Easy to check in, bathrooms were clean, water was available for drinking and cleaning dishes. There was a little confusion on where we are allowed to set up tents, there is a requirement to be no more than 30 feet from a fire pit, which I am not sure is possible at a 25 person group camp site. In the end, we did not have to move our tents. The night skies were amazing.

The best time ever! We were there during a rainstorm but I still would do it over again! Ive been coming here for 15 years now and its never a bad time. Couldnt recommend enough. Definitely will say the horses have become a lot more bold so definitely lock up your food/garbage. Sometimes they even know how to open the locks under the tables so coolers with locks and just storing in tents/car is probably a better option. Definitely recommend a campfire on the beach! And loved bringing a canopy tent.

Bathrooms and showers were clean and there was plenty of hand sanitizer in the dispensers! That may sound basic but it really has an big impact. We had great weather and we enjoyed the horses that came into our camp site briefly. Food does need to be secured ! Though the showers were cold, the large changing rooms gave shelter from the wind and cool to mild April temperatures. There were only skylights in the changing rooms and bathrooms so, bring your headlamp, lantern or flashlight. Having a few short 2x6's as a door step to the tent helped to brush off sand and keep some of it out of the tent. Also bringing large wooden stakes or sand bags to secure tent from the wind may help. We were a large group and all seemed to have a great experience!

We had a wonderful experience at Assateague and particularly enjoyed walking along the beach. Park personnel were pleasant and helpful during our stay. I would recommend it without reservation to anyone looking for a serene campsite at the beach.

We had a magical four days! The campsite was clean and tables/fire pits wonderful. Rest rooms were well maintained, parking plentiful, beach magnificent. We never left the campground, but one of our group left on Saturday to eat at a restaurant and found an hour long wait to get back into the park, so I caution anyone from leaving on a weekend day to return during the day. Only other gripe is the lack of hot water in the showers. I'd love to see that changed before our next visit next May.

This place is truly magical! The area was clean and ample parking. The Rangers were extremely helpful and kind.

Assateague is an amazing camping destination. Far enough away from civilization that the night sky is brilliant, yet close enough to venture off the island for a delicious diner breakfast. A great spot for a weekend getaway!

Group camp sites were nice. Some people rented the fires but stayed in there campers in the lot.
