Beautiful park. Loved the beach and the horses. The mosquitoes were not a problem being there in October but there were a lot of flies, probably attracted by the horse manure. Also, painful burrs were everywhere and would get stuck in my dogs feet. Mostly a lovely place though.

The sites were not what I expected however, they were roomy and well spaced. We stayed on C39 and were right by the restrooms. Still not a problem; people were polite and friendly. There was one very pregnant horse that came to visit us every day we were there! We also got to watch the full pink moon rise over the ocean. We did all the walks throughout the park. I love the walkways built to allow you to walk in areas that would otherwise be impossible to access. Will definitely consider coming back to visit again!

This site is "next door" to the showers/restrooms. Downside: little privacy due to everyone coming there.Bright Side: everyone to include horses, and also running water super close - is a definite plus. No sinks - bring a bucket to wash dishes etc. Showers are room temperature. Mosquitos - yes, bring nets, deet and long sleeves. Site has more room than some others - definitely worth booking.
The reservation system needs better accuracy. So many sites were empty, yet we were told they were full on more than one occasion. Also, actual pull in campsites should be reserved for RVs and travel trailers, not tenters or people sleeping in their cars. There are plenty of vacant walk-in tent sites available.

Absolutely beautiful. The amenities were clean. People were respectful, especially around the wild ponies. Nice and quiet, peaceful. We are definitely coming back! Absolutely loved our experience there.

Overall a very nice campsite. We had the horses (including a horse family), turkeys, and deer (mother and fawn) all come through our site at Bayside. Be prepared for the mosquitoes, and if you're a light sleeper be prepared to be woken up by the horses meandering and taking interest in your tent at random points in the night. Facilities are very clean, and it's usually pretty quiet. Make sure to go to the beach for sunrises. It's extremely calm and quiet, horses are often strolling along the coast, and the sunrises can really be spectacular. I'd also recommend spending some time on the trails and non-beach areas. Lots of birding to do. Best times to go in the summer are when it's hot, around mid-day, if you want to avoid being eaten alive by mosquitoes.
Definitely worth the trip. Went early in the season so it was a bit cool but very nice. Got lucky and had several horse grazing right next to our site while we had breakfast.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
