Simply Amazing! When you check into the park, this lot is only a few hundred feet from the ranger station. We loved this location because it offers privacy, easy access to the parking lot, bathrooms/ showers, and access to the beach. Unlike the other spaces you can reserve, I noticed that the section of the beach for group campsites were less crowded than the other lots. This space comfortably fit our group of 12, and we could have easily fit more people and tents.Cell service with AT&T worked fine for me with 3 bars of service.

My stay was amazing, we had a group camp site that was perfect. Neighboring campers were very friendly, we encountered the beautiful horses and watched dolphins from the beach. The weather was cool for the time of year that we went with some rain which I am grateful for. I do recommend extra stakes for sand to keep your tent down in the sand, it made a big difference against the wind. And I absolutely recommend staying for more than one night. There is plenty to see and the time flies by. This was a very memorable first time camping experience for myself and the teenagers who did not mind that their phones had died!

I have desperately been trying to book here and finally got the opportunity to do so. I got family to travel in from NC and Florida and did a group site! It was def an amazing experience. The storage under the picnic tables were an awesome idea. Getting our stuff to the site was very….rough but it was well worth it. I will say as a first timer there getting to the rangers station was confusing wish there were more signs! I loved that there was constant supervision for the horses and regards to our safety I really appreciated that. Everyone has been asking about the video I made regarding the experience on my tiktok because it looked so beautiful! I’m looking forward to trying to get a site next year however the individuals lol. Thank you again

I love this place with all my soul and stories of our trips here will be told for generations. If you plan on tent camping here please be prepared. The wind has broken 2 of our tents. Soft sand makes it hard getting a cooler to the site. The sun is unrelenting. The horses are wild and you must keep your distance and handle food like the horses are bears. The mosquitoes can show up quickly if the wind dies down and you need to be prepared for them. The trails are wonderful kayaking on bayside is tranquil and beautiful. This is a magical amazing place and if you are prepared and FOLLOW THE RULES you can have a magical experience too.
