Me and my girlfriends camp at Assateague island every year. Unfortunately this year we did not get to experience a full overnight camping trip. Lots of thunderstorms. But we will be back next year and better prepared. Everyone certain experience Assateague Avenue in their lifetime its beautiful.!!!

We were a little worried that the horses would be all hype, but they are very present all over the island, and wandered through our site 1-2 per day. We went in April, and while it was chilly enough that a sweatshirt was necessary, there wasn't a bug in sight. This campground is great for biking, worked well for our leashed dog, has 3 different short walk/hikes that are very kid friendly, and has amazing beach access. The oceanside loop sites were easy to get our 37' rig backed into. As a note for others- the potable water fill ups are near the dump station, and I don't know if we'll ever get all the sand out of the camper, but we would absolutely go back again!

We enjoyed our stay, the rangers and hosts were friendly and accommodating. Sites were paved and mostly level. Facilities were clean and maintained. Well done to all!

Another great vacation on the island. Very relaxing, bugs were not that bad this year.

Kayaking on the bay early or evening is best. Biking is easy as it is all flat land.
Bug spray at the ready for interested mosquitoes or flies.
It’s all good.

We had a wonderful time. We just wished that we could have gotten more nights, maybe next season! We meet many very nice people. The camp host and hostess we very helpful and invited us to their beach campfire! I think they knew this was our first camping trip in 10 years!! See you again on the 18th then in October for a few nights! Can't wait to come back! I also got many good picture of the ponies! Susan

Everything was great. I especially like that the island is empty but for wildlife and a few campers. The campground hosts are helpful. I LOVE ASSATEAGUE!! Thank you for everything. I will be back!

My experience was good, it would have been better if the water pressure was better when first entering the park.

Lovely large campsites for social distancing & dry camping, beautiful clean ocean & beaches, & clear skies for star gazing....plus plenty of wild horses wandering Assateaque National Seashore...whats not to like if you dont mind a few mosquitoes & flies plus taking cold showers. It is nature at its best! Just disappointed that Federal funding has been reduced in all our National Parks, which is a true treasure for every American.

It was fantastic. Camping on the beach with wild horses. Sounds like something on my bucket list. Only better. The weather was perfect. Water was clear.Looking forward to doing this again.

It was an amazing getaway! I highly recommend camping here. It's generally peaceful, quiet, and very removed. You get a perfect beach front view and beach front access without the cost or insane tourism. The only thing to keep in mind is if you are camping during some of the hottest or most humid times of the summer, renting an RV or having a way to create your own source of shade is something you will 100% want. We camped in a large tent, but without tree coverage it was very hot and humid and there were not really trees you could use to support a makeshift shelter. If you can't do an RV, definitely make sure you have a way to create your own shade!
