Absolutely beautiful! This is an experience that is a must. We stayed in the Oceans campsites ( sites 36 and 20) and were visited by the horses both night and day. What a treasure this place is. Would definitely do again. The beach is stunning, did not disappoint!

Always a favorite. Assateague's natural beauty and basic setup is perfect for camping or boondocking. As long as we keep our site clear for the horses to stop by we have no issues. This trip we had a horse take a nap on the lee side of our RV!

Assateague Island National Seashore is an absolutely incredible destination! Camping there among the wild horses was a unique and thrilling experience that felt like stepping into a natural paradise. The coastal scenery is stunning, and the opportunity to share this space with such majestic creatures makes it truly unforgettable. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking adventure and tranquility in one extraordinary location!

The island is clean, filled with small and short trees that makes the place feel open. The entrance to the island has an elegant and short bridge. The campsites are clean and it has the essentials. The beach was the best place. It was clean, wide, long, filled with white sand. The sunrise and the sunset was majestic on the beach. Of course, the horses are beautiful and are ready to eat your food! Its a great place to rejuvenate!

Awesome as usual. We do a trip every spring with a group of RVs.

This is a beautiful park but it needs some TLC from the NPS. Many RV sites are unusable for RV’s. Picnic tables are totally buried in sand and roads in loop 1 has deep sand on the road. The beaches remain beautiful and the ponies are always magnificent. Potable water faucet at the Oceanside dump station flowed at less than 1 GPM.

Potable water pressure at RV dump stations so low the flow is very very slow
