It was a beautiful April visit. The camp ground was in a good location with a fire pit, and clean showers and chemical toilets nearby. We saw horses in the morning, afternoon and evening time. Although it was a little too cold to swim, the beach was beautiful. A very unique National Park experience.

Beach, sunrises, sunsets, horses, kayaking, biking, trails, fishings - whats not to love. We go here several times a year and its one of our favorite places. Be aware that there are no flush toilets and no hot showers.

Campsite and shower was great! The only thing was the vault toilet could have used a bit more frequent cleaning. Bugs were present. Our dog had a great time camping and at the beach!

We loved every second of our stay here. The campgrounds and trails were well maintained. Rangers were friendly. My only suggestion is to make sure you buy firewood before you cross onto the island. There was none available for purchase when we camped in late March, which may have been due to being early in the season and/or covid. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time and will be back!

I love to come to this campground to see the wild horses. I enjoy having them come by the camp site and watching them. We have been coming there for at least 35 years. My children use to be able to walk up to the horses and pet them back then. the horses use to stick their heads in your trunk to see if you had anything good in it. We loved it when they did that, and they were very friendly too.

This was my first time camping here. I had been to Assateague for day visits on multiple occasions, always wanted to camp here. I found the site itself perfect, previous campers even left some firewood which was nice. Didn't realize that each campsite has a very nice picnic table secure storage built in. Very nice touch. The facilities were more than adequate and clean. The horses were a delight, even settled in for an afternoon nap between the campsites. Other campers as usual were all friendly and respectful of the environment. Already making plans to stay here again.
