I'll have to come back soon because it's a lovely area, but we didn't have any encounters with the horses on our short, 1-night stay.

We had such a wonderful time. Everyone who worked at the park was so informative and accommodating. We are going to make it a yearly trip! The only problem was one day a truck with a confederate flag and that message of hate doesn't belong in our national parks but I know that is something you cannot control.

We have camped at the Assateague Island Seashore many times before and think it has the best beaches in all of Maryland. The park is well taken care of and the camphosts help to keep it clean. We particularly love riding our bikes all over the beautiful campground.

Came in the early season - a little chilly at night, but very few bugs. The surrounding trees provided excellent shading and buffering from the wind. There was a little woodsy area behind us, which was great fun for kiddos to explore and gather pine cones for the fire. We saw horses every day, including two who came right near our site. Bathrooms were very clean and not smelly. The only "complaints" are folks used generators (even in no generator areas) and quiet hours weren't always observed. But otherwise, other campers were friendly and respectful.

Good facilities that are convenient to all campsites. Some campers have poor manners; playing music for others to hear and lighting the exterior of their vehicles at night. This should be discouraged and enforced. Don't follow the crowd and walk a few mikes out into the dunes where you will find quiet, unusual birds, and other wildlife. Leave no trace friends!

Fun time despite the rain and wind. I enjoy the Bayside campsites for the grass and trees. Horses in and around the sites. Buy the OSV permit and drive down the beach if your vehicle is equipped. You’ll feel like you’re on a deserted island. Hike to the walk-in camping areas for more exploring. Surf-fishing is awesome. Only dislike is the quality and cost of locally sold firewood…highway robbery. On second thought, another dislike, all the charred firewood left on the beach. It appears many don’t follow the rule of cleaning up after yourself. Also remember a lot of trash in the dunes.
Had a real great ime camping on B loop (non generator) glad it is far from A loop. Sorry only complaint is generatorseverything else was great. Everybody was so nice and explained about the horses and eveything else about the island.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
