The facilities are OK and felt like it is missing some basic items such as a goo enough toilets and sinks and showers. We had 2 nights of reservations and left after one night as we could not wash our cooking pots as no running water or a place to wash. Perhaps we didn't look enough but there was no information was provided as well. Also wind was so much that tent was hard to set up... overall enjoyed the serene park and sunset, sunrise, beach, trails and the best was were mustangs! we would not mind revisit and give another try...

Site A24 was so nice and peaceful. I wanted a site with a little more space and not so close to others. This site was perfect! The first night we were there the horses came. My oldest daughter heard something outside our tent. So I checked to see what it was, come to find out it was a family of horses. The dad walked around the tent with the mama as the baby stayed next to my van. I have little kids so we didn't go to the ocean side but we did go to the bay side alot. My kiddos loved that side because there weren't any waves and the water is so shallow. Plus you can see the bottom which I love. The only downside is the mosquitoes but I knew that from visiting in the past. Those bugs are like little vampires biting every second that they can.

Beautiful view of the bay. At the end of the lane so the site was pretty private. We also had cell phone service which i thought was incredible. We have tmobile. Enjoyed all the birds. We saw turkeys right by our site. We saw lots of horses ,deer and a fox by just driving around. We really enjoyed it.

A great experience. The only complaint is the long line at the pay booth. There should be a separate one for RV’s. Especially if you have already payed the entrance fee with your camping fee.

Had a great time. Horses walking right through camp the whole time. Love it. If you are camping, I recommend a bike to ride around easily

I first visited Assateague National Seashore over 45 years ago and have visited regularly the last 30 years. It is a beautiful place and amazing that we can get to such a place on the East Coast. It is shared public spaces like Assateague that make America great. Everyone should treat it like the gem it is.
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
