Its a wonderful place. The grounds are clean and well managed even with all the budget cuts for our National parks. The staff have to work 10x harder with half the staff. My hat goes off to them and I am very grateful for their hard work. As this is a very rare a beautiful place in our own backyard.

Absolutely wonderful place to camp. Camp area itself is very clean and well maintained. The island offers so much fun and adventures- clean beaches, walking trails, bike paths. It is truly fabulous

I really thought this national seashore was beautiful. Quiet and serene. Loved the gorgeous sunset. Did not like the piles for the horses around my picnic table. Thank you for a great stay

The washroom facilities are in desperate need of an upgrade. The horse droppings in the camp areas generate flies. Depends on your tolerance for flies. I booked our campsites for June the previous February. I could only get 3 consecutive nights (Tuesday to Thursday) and we had to change sites every night, so it was very frustrating to see all the no-shows every night. I would say that 15% - 20% of the sites were empty overnight, despite the camp ground being fully booked. Not sure what you can do about that, just saying that it was very frustrating. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves, it is a very special place.

We stayed in site A10 with a 36 foot 5th wheel. Very spacious, easy in and easy out, quiet and peaceful even with neighbors running small generators. Camp Host was very friendly as well as the entire staff. Easy trip to Ocean City and the boardwalk. We woke one morning to having a couple of the wild ponies in our site enjoying their breakfast. HUGE beach with easy access. The entire NPS area was clean and very well maintained. We are looking forward to returning next year.

Assateague National seashore is beautiful. We have been coming camping gir 4 years and the work that has been done to clean up the camping areas. Grass was cut , tall grass cut back, picnic tables and fire pits put nicely in designated areas making it look like a campsite. Love the horses roaming freely. Staff very friendly and helpful!!

No hot or cold showers in February!!! Great camp sites lots of space between sites on the bay side. Smaller sites on the ocean side.

I love the atmosphere of Assateague National Seashore campground. I re-discovered it during Covid, looking for a safe way to gather with friends and vacation. I live in Howard County Maryland, and can get there in just about 3 hours if traffic is with me. I never have any problems with horses because I am a minimalist camper. My food stays in the cooler in the table or a bag in the car. Everyone seems very friendly.

Great place. Bayside campground has a no-generators area, loop B, which some might prefer, and which we did not know when we made our reservation. Loop A is very close to the "Marsh Trail" and so we made frequent visits from our campsite to see the variety in the course of the day. Did I mention we are Birders?! Chuck-wills-widows calling each night we were there which was a treat, but also accented the aggravation of having a neighboring camper running his generator all night long, which violates the quiet hour rules I think. As for horses, if you are looking forward to that, be prepared to have them invade your space. They walked right through our campsite like they owned the place... well I guess they were here first!

One of our favorite places so far, loved seeing the horses and wildlife, beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Loved the bike trails too! The only annoying thing was the flies and knats. Loved how close we were to ocean city, the casino and restaurants too!

The Park is a gem. Checkin left a little to be desired. The agent didn’t want to explore the possibility of moving us to the ocean side. Swimming was amazing in the ocean. I loved the South beach. Mosquitos were abundant! I guess it depends on the winds. All in all, I loved our stay there

The National Park Staff provided a unique one of a kind experience to us at Assateague Island. The camp site was kept very clean and organized and the staff were polite and helpful answering our questions. Thank you for making this such a great experience.

Partially my fault, however, I was unaware of different sides to camp (bay or ocean). I have camped at Assateague island for many years and placed a reservation hoping to get site 10A (ocean side) but I registered for 10A bay side. This was my first year going without My mother and we always went ocean side. I was very disappointed to find out I booked the wrong one. I still had a good time but was not happy to be farther from the beach than expected.
