I loved it, my friends and I had a lot of fun. Great for teens looking to get to oc for cheap.

I'm in search of peace and I found it here! Quiet bunch of people, Horses to join you for breakfast, and the sound of the ocean nonstop. Bathrooms were clean.

Absolutely magical experience as long as you are in the tent before sun down and the mosquitos come out!

Fist time using the camp pad site with 2 car parking and by far loved it. Still great view of the ocean and the ocean breeze passing through the tents. Excellent network service by verizon carrier for streaming music.

Site: 013, Tent, 6/5/22 to 6/8/22Our ratings this trip: The park, overall: 5This site, this trip: 4Bugs: 3 (1 = no bugs, 5 = can't leave the screen house)Star viewing: 5 ( 1 = being view obstructed by trees, 5 = can see everything) Birds watching: 4 (1 = low, 5 = lots)Horses: 3 (0 = none, 5 = disrupts visit)Noise: 1 (1 = quiet, 5 = loud) Privacy: 2 (1 = None, 5 = Very)Review: We love this site. You can put your tent closer to fire ring/picnic table in case of wind. This does not protect in high winds though. Or you can put your tent near the fence if there is low wind and this gives you an ocean view. Bugs this trip were present but not enough to ruin the trip. The beach access directly from the site is blocked this time of year for the terns. And they can be noisy but it is cool watching them. Access via the public opening is very close. Overall a great trip. We will use this site again. Cell phone: Good at top of the site, horrible by parking area.

The park is just great, blending seashore with back bay and wildlife. What really makes all that natural beauty enjoyable is that the park is extremely well-maintained. Facilities are clean and well marked. Parking is abundant and unobtrusive. Just a great place to visit.

Just had my first experience at Assateague Island. We camped on the beach. The website could be easier to navigate. Ended up calling to change the reservation to extend my trip by a day. Customer service was great and revealed that there appeared to be no room for extension because cancellations are a convoluted process and so people don't cancel but rather abandon their reservations. An easier cancellation process could have saved me money in trying to stay an extra day because it appeared our site was booked the next day. So we had to change camp sites which was a pain to move but we ended up with a better view of the ocean and a more convenient drive up experience and the ability to park at the site. Overall, gorgeous experience and I loved the map of the wildlife. I took it everywhere and checked off the animals we saw. Horses weren't as prevalent on the beach, they were mostly in the grassy areas. Would visit again, now that I know what to expect.
