Bucket list National SeashoreDry camping at its best, there are two oceanside loops with paved sites that allow restricted generator use and several bay side loops with no generators allowed. There are also several loops of walk-in sites. All loops have a number of large sites, and we easily fit our 45 and toad on site 20.Disclosure, you may have a site 100 yards from the ocean, but the protective dunes shelter you from the winds and block your oceanfront view. Many of the bay side sites have excellent views. The wild horses roam freely, and you will see them frequently during the day.Great bike riding if you dont mind head/tail winds! We had an excellent dinner at Blacksmith in Berlin, and picked up dockside fresh seafood at Sea Born Seafood in Ocean City.

The campgrounds were spacious and clean. We had no problem finding a place to stay with a one weeks in advance reservation. We booked the last week in September and found it to be cool in the evenings and warm during the day. It was also very quiet at night. The ponies were wonderful to see and the rangers were very knowledgeable. The beach was beautifuland we were very happy that dogs were allowed in the campground and beaches.

The bugs were absolutely awful. Even our strong bug spray with deet didnt keep them from biting. Our poor dog got eaten up too, way too many biting flies and mosquitoes. Also, the entire loop had a couple shower stalls that only ran ice cold, and only one of them even worked. The mosquitoes were awful in there as well. It was all so bad, we actually had to leave a few hours after checking in and give up the money we spent to stay there. We were so excited to stay there, and will never be returning.

What a unique and relaxing spot to camp. The 4x4 access to the beach offers recreational solitude. Will definitely be back.

We love being able to camp right over the sand dune from the ocean. Being able to hear the ocean at night from your campsite is just amazing! No where else can you camp practically on the beach! Best camping ever!

Loop 2, site 20 8/1-8/5 - Amazing time, one evening we had 2 different herds of horses come and take naps by our fire. Truly amazing and worth the bug bites and ticks. The kids loved the glow sticks (fun in the evenings) and the fire seemed to help with the bugs at night. Unfortunately theres tiny bugs that fit through the screen in the tent so we all got bit while we slept. But worth it, bring lots of extra towels as we had to use them all when we had a day of rain.

We camped at Oceanside 20/22 and the site was nice enough but the horses ransacked our site while we were sitting at the table and would not leave until they ate all our food. I mean peanuts, everything bagels, entire bunches of bananas, raspberry streusel bars, etc. they opened our coolers and turned over our trash. The only way they left was someone finally called the ranger. Otherwise people were just gawking and taking pictures of horses eating trash. Weird place and will not be going back.

we liked being there but the weather didn't let us do a lot of the things we wanted to do, so we will be back another time.

We had a lovely time...the weather was perfect, we like the beach and the horses. We used our bikes a lot (including going to Berlin) and had 0 mosquitos!
