Beautiful. Peaceful. We visited off seasonlast 2 days/nights in March. It was windy, chilly but sunny days and clear star filled nights. Our site was amazing, right on the beach. Paved but partially sand covered. Plenty of privacy. Horses here are truly wildwhat a unique experience! Nice easy trails to explore and a long paved 5 mile over the bridge and back path.

Beautiful. Tent camped in high winds and all conditions pretty much but it was great. Loved seeing the horses come by. Loved seeing all the new trail expansions made within the last 13 years. Totally, however, would be awesome to get up to STATE PARK STANDARDS and install DECENT BATHROOMS. Other than that, no complaints at all. Loved it

Great place to camp. Exploring bay side on kayak is my favorite activity.

Arguably the best and most beautiful campsite I have ever been to. Stepping out of the RV directly into soft sand was nothing short of amazing. I didn't need shoes my entire camping trip. Walked directly to the beach from the campsite from a path that is shared by only a few campsites. The horses will come right up to your camper as if you are not even there. I expected that everyone would be running generators, but that wasn't our experience. I honestly don't think I heard anyone's generator the entire time.We went in mid June and did not need AC at all. TMobile service was spotty. I had to work from home for a few days and I made it work with my phone's hotspot strategically placed (and constantly moving it). There are other parts of the park, such as the gift shop parking lot, that get good 5GUC (I did have to sit in the parking lot for a little bit to complete a call).

A deserted beach under the full moon in late October was priceless. We had no mosquitoes and saw very few people, a fair number of horses, lots of egrets and even a fledgling eagle at the Forest Nature Trail. The sunrise over the ocean and sunset over the bay were greatly colorful. Park rangers are friendly and very helpful, and the facilities were in fair condition.

Beautiful beach that is far from the city lights so you can enjoy walk at night with great views of stars

We loved staying here. To camp steps away from the ocean is a dream for me. It was amazing to see ponies just sidle up to the rig. We went in April so swimming was out but long walks on the beach were great. There is a bike path that goes pretty far so we enjoyed using that. We think the Visitors Center is also very well done.

No hook ups and this was our experience with a long dry camp. Fortunately, it was sunny most days. Our cell service was quite good.

Of course there are wonderful seafood places so it was also wonderful to grill fresh fish.

We'll go back if we can snag reservations!

Great place to visit and camp. Many sites were empty even though the site and the rangers and hosts say it is fully reserved. I think a large surcharge should apply if campers do not show up for their reservation. This would allow more campers to enjoy the campgrounds.

We had a great time in a lovely campground and look forward to coming back. The horses are an amazing aspect of this. If you're lucky, you might get to see a NASA launch from Wright Island. Two tips for your site: the boxes under the table protect food from horses but not rodents. Make sure things are in plastic tubs under the table too. We didn't expect to find ticks (mosquitoes and stinging flies were a known) but they are very common so come prepared for those too. Great experience!

Love this park. No complaints about the site.
I might suggest a more efficient way of checking people in. That was slow,& laborious.
