WHOA!!! I have tried for 2 years to get a campsite and finally got it! It is amazing! And so much fun. We saw ponies everyday, all day ling. Went kayaking and hiking. The sites are huge and well situated. Very good accommodations and if course it's an island with wild ponies so what could possibly be bad about it? We got an annual pass and I plan on coming down as often as I can, even if I can't camp there all the time. I highly.recommend everyone camp at least once in their life on Assateague.

Walk-in campsites were spaced well apart, somewhat private, and much bigger than I was expecting. Facilities were clean and convenient.

Camp hosts are awesome. Cancellation police needs to be changed. There are way too many no shows which leaves others missing out on such a great experience

We got bit by hundreds of mosquitoes! When you walk down the path it’s like an attack you need to run through so that they don’t bite you. And I never get bit by mosquitoes they usually avoid me! They ruined everything! I am never going back there again

It was a great experience. I've lived in Maryland for 40yrs, and first time to the national seashore side.

My first overnight camping trip to Assateaque, can't wait to do it again. The facility was clean and we really enjoyed the ponies.

We had a lovely weekend stay on Assateague Island. The horses were beautiful. Check-in was very easy. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. Heed the bug warning. The bugs were very intense. Make sure you have time to relax at the beach, hike the trails, and stop over at the visitor's center for educational programs. Close-by there are fabulous crab houses and local vendors selling firewood. We will definitely be back.
