It can be nerve wracking when the horses approach your camp, even if you've kept all of your foods put away. There could maybe by shovels made available for campers who would like to remove some of the horse shit from around the premises.bathrooms and showers were very clean.

Just love this place. One of my favorite places on earth. Tons of horses this time; make sure you don't leave food out!

We camped in early November at a few walk-in ocean side camp sitse. We took 5 teen girls and 4 parents. We had the best time! It is a beautiful, peaceful place with a gorgeous shoreline and of course the ponies! It is cold in November but if you are prepared and have the correct gear it is a great time to be here. We have camped before with the same group, in early October which is a bit warmer. In the summer, we come here for a beach day. It is a very special, serene place for nature, beach, and animal lovers. Highly recommend!

The sunrise on the beach is 100% worth waking up early. It is spectacular. Bring strong DEET based repellent if camping overnight or do no under any circumstances leave your tent. The mosquitoes mean business and were still swarming during a rain storm. To hold down tents on sandy soil bring big water bottles or jugs to place in the corners inside. If you bring empty ones (or drink from the ones you have) you can fill them up with ocean water as needed.

This place is absolutely magical. The tent camping sites (beach side) are well spaced out so you feel like you have the place to yourself, and you can see the entire milky way at night. The beach is incredible -- if you haven't been to a national park that has a seashore, you owe it to yourself to go. There aren't any tacky beach shops or restaurants, just sand and ocean. No hotels, no overcrowded beaches or annoying touristy types. And here, horses -- though we didn't see any on the beach on our visit. The showers were a refreshing accoutrement. We can't wait to camp here again.
