My family had an awesome time camping on the beach. We did an AM fishing trip out of Ocean City which was close by.

This particular camp site (#79) is still a bit far from the entrance (and pit toilets) to lug around a lot of gear, so pack light. Consider bringing a portable loo if needed. The site itself has a beautiful view and is fairly level, so you can set up a tent without sliding off your air mattress/sleeping pad during the night. Leave enough room (and bring enough deep tent stakes) to set up both tent & rainfly anchors, as you will need to secure everything as much as possible due to heavy coastal winds (even in nice weather). I brought a tent tall enough to stand in, but next time will bring something smaller - high winds made my tent sway, and the noise of wind lashing against it was enough to make sleep difficult. Ear plugs are essential!!The horses are beautiful, smart, and sneaky - they are very food aggressive. The picnic tables have very helpful storage space that run the length of the table, with doors on either side that latch shut; if your cooler is small enough (under 24" wide) you can easily store it out of a horse's reach. Star gazing is incredible here, and you can easily see the Milky Way! Next time I'll remember to bring a decent camera, as phone cameras can't do it justice.

Loved our stay! Hands down the best pit toilets I've ever used. How are there no flies?! My kids loved catching sand fleas and ghost crabs.
