We went there for one night at the walk in campsites by the beach. It was close to the showers and bathrooms. It was just lovely. The ocean was a few steps away from our camp. And as a bonus we were able to see the stars. Will be going back soon!

I gave 4 star rating just because of mosquitoes, otherwise its 5 starts. Suggestion to campers: if possible prefer campsite closer to the beach(on sand).

A beautiful place to camp by the beach. Facilities are adequate but the showers are cold water only! They feel good in the Summer! Ponies are around quite often so secure your food. We have been camping in Assateague since 2007 and Love it.

The park and seashore were lovely. The horses were present and non-intrusive.

Love to get back to nature. The ponies are exciting to see, and the stars at night are unbelievable. Don't leave anything edible under your picnic tables...the horses can't get to it, but the RACOONS will literally open those plastic doors on the sides with their lite sneaky paws and help themselves to anything not locked up tight! If you love going to sleep to the sound of ocean waves, this is your place.

Great site location! Sites are spaced out. I love that the picnic tables have doors below at both ends for storage. Bring a screen shelter to protect against mosquitos and flies. Bug spray and mosquitos repellent didn't work. Also, bring extra battery to charge cellphone as there is no place to charge phone. Overall, it was a wonderfull experience. I can't wait to go back.

Stayed at campsite 68. It was amazing. It was right by the bathroom and showers. The beach was so close. Will definitely be going back. Absolutely loved it!!!
