Nice spot not too far from the parking area. Well maintained, the bathrooms and shower cabins are in good condition, and the staff is really nice.

Amazing place, great spot, saw whole bunch of wild horses, dont really have any complains, unless you dont like cold showers, also, bring a sled or rolling cart or something, the fluffy sand is hard to walk on to carry everything there and back, barely a minute long walk but going back and forth can be a lot, still had and absolutely amazing experience tho

Fire rings are so tall they don't give off any heat, and difficult to sit and enjoy. We were disappointed that no horses or animals came around our campsite.

Even with a crazy storm coming assateague island never fails to be a magical place to camp.

Campsite and bathrooms were clean and comfortable to use. Map was clear to find where to park and set up. Hikes were AMAZINGLY beautiful, and horses were wanderings as promised. Notes for staying there. It was WINDY (which probably protected us from bugs) You'll want to prepare for an added layer for warmth, and bring a wind breaker. We already booked our next stay.

A great place to relax on the beach! So long as youre prepared for wind and protective of your food, its a good time. Facilities are well maintained.

A wonderful location, but the wild horses will come through the campsite three times a day to steal food from unprepared campers, and they're not scared of anyone or anything.

Loved our stay but a few things to keep in mind: 1. You will bring a lot of sand home. 2. It's hard to escape the sun. 3. There's not really anywhere to wash your dishes, just a couple of spigots to replenish your water supplies. 4. Vault toilets in excellent condition. 5. Showers are more the wash the sand off type. 6. You get a picnic table with some storage underneath it as the feral ponies like to steal food. 7. Sadly some people don't respect the correct distance from the horses. 8. Amazing stars! 9. Lovely to see the wild ponies doing their thing. 10. Buy firewood before you reach the island.

Assateague was beautiful as always. We had a few horse encounters. This a great place to watch the wildlife.

FANTASTIC place to visit, camp, and beach!! I love this shore and come here as often as I can each year, no matter the time of year (yes, I've been in December when it is freezing and I'm the only one there). The camp check in process is smooth, good with COVID spacing and care. The campsites are clean, spaced apart a bit, and each have great table with storage for food to protect from the horses, and a fire pit with a grill. Campers generally kept to themselves, cleaned up after themselves and were respectful of others' space, especially with COVID. The beach itself, Fabulous as always. I felt safe coming here during COVID where I would not dare go to any NJ, Southern or other MD beaches. It is barely full, OSV being the most full, but really only one vehicle deep and spaced out enough along the shoreline. During the day, it is more lively, but there were times and days that I was almost alone on the beach. Early morning walks and runs are perfect. Beach campfires are a must (bring a shovel!). Assateague Market right before you hit the bridge island has great cheap but dry wood that last for hours and hours. All in all, a great getaway and truly a National treasure.
