Choctaw campground has been a favorite spot for our family for the last 40 years. My husbands grandparents brought all the grandkids here in the 70s and 80s. Our three girls grew up riding bikes, finding seashells, interesting rocks, and Driftwood on walks on the beach. Its still our favorite place to go with our four year old granddaughter. On this particular visit, we had five generations roasting marshmallows as the full moon Came up over the water. Choctaw Campground is a wonderful place to spend time with family and friends. We always enjoy the clean showers and restrooms. The park is always nice and tidy. We highly recommend and encourage you to visit this wonderful space.

My husband and I camp here often and at least once a year I have an annual girls trip at this campground. The attendants are lovely and so sweet. Very clean bathrooms and the swim beach. Tons of trails and walking for the dog. Marina has everything you need including a big white shepherd rescue who looks over the ladies working there. Camp sites are easy to back into. The local sheriff usually comes through a few times a day so I always feel very safe here. Walmart is just up the road if you need a new camper mattress like we did amongst half a dozen other things I forget each trip. The sell beer and wine as well. Firewood is just up the road too. The boat launch is very wide so easy to launch in and out at. Over all it is our favorite campground and home base we look to camp multiple times a month.

Camped at Choctaw (11/4/2023 - 3 nights - Loop D).Camped at Site #7, which had a huge concrete pad for our 25 RV and great lake view.Minimal trees around this Site #7, which was nice.In this area are many country road routes for motorcycle enthusiasts to enjoy.A wonderful bakery, Serenity Farm Bakery in Leslie - about half hour from Choctaw. They have a store as well as a separate bakery on Main St.For lake activities at this time of year, the marina was closed for the season - so not able to rent anything. But you could bring your own boat, kayak, paddleboard, etc. There is a huge boat ramp.

We enjoyed our stay at the campground. There were no attendants at the gate to check in or get info on the campground. Probably because we were pre-season. Not a big deal. Our site ws enjoyable and we had great views of the lake. We enjoyed walking thru the different loops.
