Pros: Barges passing by on the river were fun to watch! Cons: Sites were smaller than expected for a COE, noise and smell from the nearby paper factory, rude neighbors kept lights on all night, and walked through our site up and down the river. There is a very busy day-use area adjacent to the park. It was nice to see so many local community members using the outdoors; however, it detracted from the peaceful camping atmosphere. The worst part of the experience is that there was a homeless couple who were allowed to move from site to site during our stay and ended up near us twice. She approached us twice, asking for our labor to help her move to their next campsite. She had a black eye and stated she was a victim of domestic violence, but had no choice because she insisted on keeping her two "service dogs" with her. Unfortunately, knowing about service dogs meant that those off-leash, constantly barking dogs were not actually trained service dogs. She also left them unattended on several occasions, and they barked nonstop. Service animals do not leave their patients and do not bark incessantly. They also took over a large log pile in the forest behind some campsites and chased other campers away. They were at that log pile after midnight with multiple vehicles and had it completely lit up. We have no idea what they were doing, but it didn't seem above board. Overall, this was the worst COE experience we've had yet. We were scheduled to stay for 14 nights and left after six nights.

Such a nice, quiet park! Spaces are large, level, and wide enough that youre not jammed in against your neighbors. The restroom/shower house was very clean. Close to both Russellville and Dardenelle for shopping or restaurants. The only thing is, the sign for the turn could be a LOT larger. We missed it and ended up making the narrow loop up by the river gatehouseyikes. We will definitely go back to thus park!

The site setting was fantastic. Great view of the Arkansas River. Plenty of space between sites. Very quiet park. We enjoyed our visit so much we added a night, would of stayed longer but our site was rented

Sites are well spaced apart.Lots of mature trees.Sites next to the lake have sun/rain shelters.Campground is midaged but kept up.Noise from a nearby paper mill is distracting at night.

We stayed in a spot backing up to the river and it was perfect. The park is nice and clean and well kept. The bathrooms and showers were clean and sanitized. Its close to Russellville if you want to grab a bite to eat away from camp food, or only about a 30 min drive to Petite Jean State Park. We will definitely be back.

Great campground for riding bikes, playing ball etc. Great shade trees. Only con is the dump area needs some work on it.
