As a young boy I lived about a 200 yards North of our campsite. So I am somewhat prejudiced. I love Lake Ouachita. One place you need to visit if you have time is Hickory Nut Mountain. From there you have a view of the entire lake. But for the experience of a lifetime, rent a boat and spend the day on the lake weaving in and around the nearly two hundred, tree covered islands. Or take your tent with you and spend the night on one of those islands. It is a great way to get back to nature . . .

Great place to visit. Super quiet and park attendants so kind.

Too open and not enough privacy for our liking at Crystal Springs. In comparison, we love Tompkins Bend for the more woodsy, quiet, nature experience. We also like the MTB LOViT trails more from the West. I do want to say that the cleaning staff at Crystal Springs was an A. Compared to Tompkins Bend a B-
Folks were friendly at our site. In the next loop over, There was a dog left barking (for hours) under a tarp in the rain. It should be clear that campers should not leave their dog unattended at a tent site. I felt bad for the dog.

Beautiful lake but the sites are way too close together for a good camping experience.

Very friendly person greeted us and said goodbye when we left. We are newbie campers and she explained everything clearly. Campground was generally clean. I think I mistakenly booked an RV site for our tent camping but it worked out great as my son could fish right at our site. The lake was a bit cloudy in the shallow beach area from all the kids playing but it was still refreshing if you swam/walked out a bit further. The bathrooms weren’t pristine but they were great for campground bathrooms. And having a shower before bed on a humid hot day was fantastic. Very few mosquitoes but the flies were starting to get annoying when we were trying to eat outside. Overall I would recommend.

Such an amazing campground, amazing views, great neighbors, can’t find anything negative to say about it…great distance from Hot Springs National Park (such a cool little town too)

We enjoyed our 3 nights. It would be good to note that the bathrooms are quite far from loop B. (There are no bathrooms in that loop) Other than that, we found our stay quite lovely.
