It was an easy spot to set up and had one of the best views. The bathrooms were very clean too.

We had site five and it was absolutely gorgeous. The lake access was perfect for us with our canoe. Fishing right from our site was also great. It made everything so much easier. I do wish there was more shade even one more tree towards the center of the site would have made a huge difference. Basically from noon to 6:00 p.m. the site was in full sun. I also wish we would have researched a bit more about the lake as we had no idea that it got as warm as a bathtub. We were there during the heat wave so not having any shade and not having any relief by taking a dip in the lake did make for some grumpy campers but the gorgeous view did make up for that. We didn't do any of the private mines but we did go to Crystal Vista. The hike to the top was challenging but it was an excellent adventure. We stopped at one of the first spots I wish we would have kept hiking and made it further into the park. Bring garden tools to save yourself some money, do your research. I didn't know the mining was available so we ended up spending quite a bit of money at a nearby True Value to get a few tools

These camp grounds are showing there age. Roads are falling in there looking old. The core of eng needs to do a little revamping. But we had a good time.

I love the improvements that have been made. The roads into the campground and the sites have had major updates. I absolutely love this place. We have been visiting for the last 3 years and it just gets better and better.

We had a beautiful location over looking the lake but had to give a lower rating due to the roads needing repair, trees needing trimming and a poor location of the dump station

Hickory nut Vista is breath taking view of a great portion of the lake.. Little towns all around of early 1900 architec was neat and very friendly small population.
