I stayed here on Memorial Day weekend. I was at the primitive campsite (no water/electricity.). It did have a table and fire pit. The area was well maintained. The people before us moved the table, but it was fine where it was. The site is next to the river and has a small dock to fish off of. Our site was close to the boat ramp/paring and restrooms. The restrooms had a shower with hot water. When you come, bring firewood. There are a few places in town (5 min drive), but not many. If you need ice or visit the grocery store, it is only 5 min away. There are also some restaurants nearby if you dont want to cook. You will hear the train (the other side of the river) and the church bells, but it is quite other than that.

I'm a tent camper so keep that in mind when I sat this to be honest I think that the grounds in the tent sites where not well maintained and not only that a culvert pipe points right into site A03 the other night it poured needles to say I had to throw out an anchor all in all I will be back

What a neat campground. While it may not be for everyone, this location offers opportunities to watch tugboats and barges, freight trains (across the river), and various river traffic while camped along the Arkansas River just above a lock/dam. Very nice birding, close to town. Not like any other ACE place I have been to, but maybe I should get out more.

What a neat campground. I was confused by the map, wasn't sure which sites had electric. I would have been better off to explore first to choose the site I wanted, then register online. Anyway I enjoyed the quiet and solitude of the tent site area in my camper. The showers were awesome!
