While we normally stay in section A for the cool breeze off the river, we stayed in section D this time on higher ground as a last(ish) minute trip and it was available the entire time. I think maybe since its the VERY last campsite (D18) and butts up to the woods there more room for critters. The 1st of 4 nights was AMAZING. The next 3, not so much as every night we were terrorized by a group of 3 massive raccoons and a tag along cat. Literally I think he thought they were all family. They opened our clasped closed with latches totes and were slapping our tent.all night long. Im talking zero sleep because of those little trolls. Probably wouldnt bother people in campers and I absolutely know theyre just nocturnal little bears living their best life, but id recommend staying in sections A-C. Still a great camp ground with nice enough facilities and would for sure go back!!

I am a "repeat-attender" to the JFK Park for many reasons, but not limited to the well-organized, neat, accommodating campsites and facilities, Along with all that there is all the gorgeous beauty of the Little Red River which also allows for some great trout fishing, kayaking, and such, and the opportunity to hike along the shady banks of Collins Creek to the series of waterfalls at its main water source which l believe is discharged from the nearby trout fish hatchery, which is also a must-see while visiting the JFK Park.

No showers on the A loop and the sites are directly roadside of the main entrance with no barrier in between.

Quiet and isolated. Very relaxing weekend.
