This was the worst experience that I have ever had at a COE campground due to the extreme rudeness and hostility of the host couple. It all started when I said that I would like to spend the night in one of their vacant campsites. When I told the woman that I didn't have a prior reservation she looked at me like I was from Mars. She kept saying that I had to have a reservation. I told her that I had been staying in COE campgrounds for the last 10 weeks in 7 states and that I had never once had a reservation. She kept repeating herself over and over and over. I finally told her that I had heard her the first 5 times. I asked if there were vacant sites and she said that there were. I asked her which ones were vacant and she told me to drive down there and figure it out myself. This is what I did and I paid for the site using the Recreation.gov phone app. I wasn't in the site even 15 minutes before the husband was banging on my door demanding to know if I had paid for this site. I told him that I had only been here maybe 15 minutes, but that I had indeed paid for the site. I asked him if he wanted to see the email confirmation and he said that he didn't care about anything that I had. He then started yelling at me. Apparently his wife had called him and told him that I didn't have a prior reservation. He kept yelling and was extremely rude and hostile. I finally asked him to stop yelling. The whole experience was unbelievable. I was going to spend a few days there, but instead I got up early the next morning and got out of there as fast as I could. I've been staying in COE campgrounds for years and I've never ever encountered anything like these two hosts. I never have reservations because I'm never sure of where I'll be or when I'll be there. I've been doing this for years and I've never had a problem. Even here, they had open sites and I chose and paid for one in less than 15 minutes. This disgraceful behavior by this host couple was totally uncalled for.

We really enjoyed site 20. Lots of room and able to see the lake through the trees. The camp hosts were super nice. The full service marina is really nice with boat rentals and such. Very large swimming area. Cell service was a bit weak (Verizon) at two bars.

This is in a beautiful area. The campground hosts Jeff and Linda were very helpful and friendly. We booked site 5 and when we arrived someone was in our site as apparently it got double booked. We had to go to a different site in between 4 families who kept walking through our site visiting each other which was disappointing. We moved to site 20 after 3 days which was very quiet and more private.
