Its a nice enough place and the facilities were great. - but inconsiderate neighbours made the experience a pretty average one.

Beautiful park with beautiful views and we will definitely be back. We stayed in site 97 which sits atop a cliff and is shady and spacious. It does not have access to the lake, but has the prettiest view of the lake in this section of the campground!! Its also a little more private and secluded versus the other campsites closer to the marina and swim beach. For water you need to bring containers and use the spigot to fill them as there is not a water hookup at the site. Bathrooms (vault) are a good distance up hill and it is walkable, but we drove there most of the time. Its tent pad is large and level with a gravel base and bordered with railroad ties. The paved parking pad is slightly sloped and separates the tent pad from the concrete table, fire pit, and electric hookups. To get electricity to the tent, you must run an extension cord over the parking pad to the hookup, which means you have to unplug it each time you drive in or out of the campsite. There were many trees to chose from to hang our hammocks, and the Rim Rock Trail runs through the lower edge of the site but we didnt see anyone hiking. Its a very quiet and peaceful area. Highly recommend!!
The campground is a nice wooded area just off the edge of town. I had a great view of the lake. Only problem I was pretty far from the showers. But the view made up for it.

It was unfortunate to have no water available at campsite 97. Lots of ticks and site had lots of litter and debri from previous occupants.
We stayed in site #97 over some weekdays and had a good visit to Prairie Creek. The campground is large and sprawling with campsites divided into several unique loops with each loop having a feel of a stand alone campground due to the distance between the loops. Many of the loops are really single roads that dead-end into a cul de sac / turn around, as was the case with the loop we stayed on. I liked this arrangement because you do not get a lot of traffic driving through to get to other campsites making the stay more quiet and relaxing. Some of the roads within the campground are very narrow, as was the case with our loop and we were very concerned when driving in and out of the area that we would encounter vehicles going the other way. There was no way two RVs would be able to pass each other so one would have to back completely out to let the other pass. Site 97 was mostly level with a gravel parking pad, picnic table, fire pit and gravel tent pad. From the campground map I had expected to be able to walk to the lakeshore from the rear of site 97, but that is not possible. The site does overlook the lake, but it is about 300 feet above the water and it is a steep cliff face down to the water. The campground features modern flush toilets in each loop, but only one shower house near the day-use beach area ... but it is a bit of hike to reach the shower house from some parts of the campground, so if you intend to use the shower house, you will want to select a loop near the day use area. Cell coverage was useable throughout the campground, and at site #97 we experienced 12.3Mbps down & 2.10Mbps up with AT&T.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
