We loved this campground pre tornado. Obviously thats not anyones fault, but its just not the same. We missed being able to hike the short trails or go up to the higher campsites. It still needed a lot of cleanup (leaves for example) that still hadnt happened. The ground was very uneven and covered in knee deep leaves which was a little dangerous. The campground is also way too large to only have one shower house. We enjoyed watching boats go in and out and sitting down by the water. The camp host was very nice. We had great weather and our picnic table was covered which was a bonus. We loved having a campfire and looking out at the water. We would come back.

We initially had a great time at this campground. We loved all the trees and beautiful water views. The beach leaves a little to be desired, it was very rocky and hard to access. The campsites had ample space between them and are not on top of one another. What made this trip memorable and not quite as enjoyable, was the tornado that came through the campground on Saturday night of our stay. This was at no fault of the campground, but it was a definite set back. Trees were down all over the place, electric was off, no internet. Fortunately, no one in our party was injured, our camper was spared and we still had running water. The campground was going to close for a while to clean up all the storm damage. But, tornado or not, we would stay here again.

We stay at Prairie Creek a couple of times a year, and it's very consistent - things are generally in decent repair, and the cleaning crews generally do a decent job on the bathrooms. This trip made me realize though that I've never had a hot shower at PC - lukewarm is as good as it gets. This trip was the worst - the lake actually seemed warmer (I tested it). On the plus side, staff were replacing toilets in the waterfront loop bathroom, and a new bathroom building was going up on the day use side of the park, which should take a little pressure off the campground toilet. If you are in the 50-70 campsites, be prepared for a couple of events every morning. One is the 'running of the bass boats', that takes place almost every day - in at dawn, and out in time to go to work a couple of hours later. Fairly loud. The other daily event is much more comical - the crows that inhabit the area have a morning coffee klatch, discussing the weather, latest gossip, and probably commenting on the bass boat crowd. It's not enough to drown out the bass boats and their tow trucks, but it's a darn amusing way to start the morning!

One of our favorite get away places. In the woods, on the lake. Close to Rogers and greenway bike paths

Great spot! The lot was quiet and extremely close to the lake. It was a little unlevel but nothing a few leveling blocks couldnt fix. Will definitely book again!

We stayed at site 57, a decent site, however there was a bunch of little trash scattered about the site. We had TONS of traffic though the area driving quite fast to the beach. Wouldn't stay there again.

It was a beautiful spot along the water. It was a little difficult to find. Signage for the short term spots could be clearer.

This place needs better management and/or support of the management. The restrooms were LOUSY! They were dirty and in need of maintenance. The location is great, but the place needs some TLC.

The camping pad was not level and the road was higher than the drive so careful or you may scrap the bottom of your camper.
