This was our first time staying at prairie creek campground. Sad to say we will not be back. Sites were very uneven and very narrow and short. Have a shorter 5th wheel 296 and we hardly had any room, front to back and side to side. Our campsite #56 was difficult to get into as that area is hilly. We did explore the rest of the park and were not impressed with most of the sites. No lake view or very little view. We did make the most of our trip as we werent there much. Overall give it 2.5 stars just wasnt right for us.

Nice amenities and well maintained BUT cold showers.

The campground at Prairie Creek is located on a beautiful peninsula on Beaver Creek. Location is beautiful and the power is stable. Approaches to campsites are dated to a different era and narrow. Power or picnic tables are sometimes position on the opposite side of modern campsites. Our 22’ single axle trailer had difficulty making it into our site (for the first time ever) . . . Many trailer scars in pavement indicate it seems to be a systemic problem at the campsite. Beautiful campground , just do your research before choosing your site.

Shower house water could be a little warmer. Everything else is very nice. Its a beautiful area and close to Rogers and shopping for my wife.

Overall the park was very nice. Information on sites on Recreation.gov was accurate. However, the showers were in very bad shape!. Not properly maintained and very poorly cleaned.

Park is beautiful but our site 066 was bad water and electricty was ok the site was so narrow could not walk on side of camper and the right site was all rocks and holes to fall in very difficult to back into with a 30 foot trailer the toliets in the bath house were filthy (closest to our site) the bath house up on the hill was clean but so far away. then monday am a mower was running all around camp site throwing rocks and leaves don't know why he as running as no grass, only leaves won't stay here again

Staff was very helpful with any questions. Each camping site was clean and user friendly. We had a great view of the lake and enjoyed hiking the trail, a few downed trees made it memorable. After a busy weekend, the bathrooms were full but they were cleaned the next morning and all was good. Would stay and plan to stay there again.

Some of the sites are harder to get into then others, on a hill, curve, etc. Our site was 56 & it was on a hill and somewhat hard to get into. Also park ranger says you need at least 1-2 wheels of truck on your spot. It was peaceful, and they have several playgrounds for the kids. The swimming area is nice, a rocky beach, we were able to walk to it from this site. There is only one shower house though, but it was taken care of with bench seat and plenty of hooks for clothes/bags. Overall a nice place & already have a spot reserved for Oct.

The only reason we didn’t give it 5 stars was it was opening weekend and our water connection at the site had frozen and busted over the winter. We adapted and still had a fantastic time.
