I have camped at several COE parks and they are usually all really nice and enjoyable to stay at. I was very disappointed in prairie creek. First of all there was never any host or COE employees anywhere to ask questions too . After arriving at my site I was shocked to discover that the picture and details of the site I reserved was very dishonest as to the condition of our site. The site was hilly, and sloped downhill in the only spot that wasn’t completely covered in large rocks. We had to sleep down hill on a slope and could barely stand in our tent. The site had odd trash as well as broken glass on it. We set up and moved on to preparing dinner. Later we discovered despite the reservation. Gov site which said flush toilets the bathroom on our loops had pit toilets and no lighting whatsoever. We had to drive aimlessly around the campground at dark which was difficult with no road signs or markers to help looking for a good bathroom multiple times. We made the best pf things and decided to go fishing the next day only to discover that unless you have a boat and trailer you cannot park anywhere there is bank fishing including the marina and the large parking lot by the boat ramp. The only place we could find to fish was by the swimming area which was loud and with the boats constantly driving fast through the lake the water was much to choppy to bait fish at all. The cell phone reception was good there but without any supervision some of the other campers were arguing loudly early in the morning and several dogs barked all during the night
