This was an amazing campsite and the park attendants were very attentive. We camped in our tent for 2 nights and loved it. Some of our favorite activities were playing soccer in the open field near the playground, cooking around the fire, and hiking Shaddox Hollow (1.5 mile hike; 15 minute drive to the trailhead). While we were there we were already planning a trip back in the summer to take advantage of swimming in the lake!

Loved having the roaming herd of whitetail in the area.

highly recommended - beautiful area, sites in this section are well-spaced from each other, bathrooms clean, showers tended to flood the bathroom floor

Camp grounds were clean, quiet and had flush toilets and warm showers. However, there are no trash bins, anywhere, except a small one in the bathhouse.

Facilities and amenities are unkept and worn out. Playgrounds had small rock changed out for wooden chips resulting in children playing atop of mold, termites, and splinters. No park attendant checking in or out campers leading to possible tickets on windshield by rangers when visiting the day use area. Typical government-ran park that is underfunded and ignored.

nice sites with wide easy access; mostly flat for campers; a variety of wooded and mostly wooded sites (ours was mostly wooded);acceptable restrooms and showers though water seemed to pool everywhere after shower usage; great picnic tables with roof that was nice in the rain we had;

The camp site was littered with paper; and the dogs in the nearby vicinity were NOT on leashes! The bathroom/showers were kept quite neat and clean at all times. There was a beautiful children's playground BUT most dog owners let their pets "do solid waste" on the gravel/sand area and did NOT pickup after themselves. Dogs should have an area to do their business or the park should insist they use doggie bags! Dogs and music were crazy every night but the park is kept quite groomed. Would recommend staying there but be aware of the dogs not on leashes and on the playground!
