Horseshoe Bend was great. The park was not officially open but there were Camp Hosts who picked up trash at each site and who were there to help when needed. We love camping at Horseshoe Bend.

This campground is located along Beaver Lake and has great campsites for a variety of sizes of campers. However, the campground itself is laid out in a rather complex pattern and it's difficult to figure out which direction to go to get to your site. Our site required us to go around the access road and come in from the east while others down our same lane would access their spot from the west. There is limited signage directing you. We watched a number of larger campers backing up to figure out how to get to their spot. Also, some of the trees have low hanging branches, one of which caused significant damage to our camper roof.

Campground is reserved only, no maps or directions available to the campsite. Not a easy park to get in and out with a larger camper, ended up ripping my awning arm off the back of the camper on a picnic table awning, no sewer hookups available. The lake was nice. It is pet friendly and if you know your way around it wouldn't have been so bad. Drove around for over an hour trying to find the site.

Not once did this park attempt to mow before the biggest kick off of the camping season Memorial weekend. Here it is over a week later and we are still pulling ticks off our dogs, which could have been avoided had they mowed and not left it like 6 inches tall.

Even though we were there during the winter camping season this is a great campground. The only negative thing I can say is that the sites are poorly marked and can be difficult to find. Camp site was level and easy to back into. We were self contained so the only hookup we used was electric. Water was turned off, but most of the sites do not have water. The views are great and we are looking forward to going again in season when the rest of the campground is open.
