We love camping here. The camp hosts are very helpful and take care of problems as soon as possible. All of the sights are nice and well maintained. We try and camp once in the spring and again in the fall so my husband can fish. Whispering Woods Grill is a great place to eat, especially if you can sit outside and take in the view. Heidis Ugly Cakes is great too. Visit the fishery while you are camping and hit the Y in Salesville for a milk shake. Then walk the paved road around the campground to burn some calories!

Restrooms were not as clean and up-to-date as some places we have stayed, but overall experience was excellent. Really enjoyed the view of the river, camp host and park staff very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back!

This is by far the best "full service" campground I have ever been to. Each site has water and electric. There is one dump-station in the campground. Many of the campsites are right on the river, and those that aren't are a short walk. The fishing was fantastic, and Dry Run Creek was a blast for by under-16 angler. If you are not familiar with Dry Run Creek, it is catch and release and for anglers under 16 only. Monster trout.Floating/wading the river - We only waded the river when there was no hydro generation going. We did very well near the boat ramp and also in front of campsite 19. We floated the entire length of the NorthFork in sit on top kayaks as well as a Colorado XT fishing pontoon. We did this at zero generation with minimum bottom drag, and again with two generators running. Two generators ran swift but easy to navigate. It took 1.5 hours at two.Restrooms - Excellent! - I have never seen this sort of restroom set up. All restrooms are male/female but private. Each exterior door in a 4 to 6 toilet building leads to a heated and cooled private restroom with shower, sink, toilet, bench, and mirror. If they had one more of these restroom buildings it would be perfect; not because they were always full, but because of the walk to get to them in some situations.Hatchery - there is a hatchery directly across the road that is a must see. It closes at 3:30 so hit this first and then walk down to Cry Run Creek.Nearby you can have an awesome breakfast at "Norfork Cafe", and later have a great lunch at "Heidi's Ugly Cakes and Sandwiches". We actually bought one of Heidi's award winning "Holy Cow " Cakes for my dad's birthday while we where there. WOW!The nearest town to get supplies at "regular prices is Mountain Home 13 miles away. They will have all the major big box stores and restaurants.Calico Rock has a free museum which we found very worth while, with many of the exhibits hands-on. Stop by the ice cream shop next door if you go

This is one of the best campgrounds I've ever been to, and I've been to many. In fact I extended my stay for a few more days. The fishing was excellent right at the camp ground, and we enjoyed kayaking down the river on a couple occasions (arrange your own shuttle or call Adventure Outdoors in Norfolk to make arrangements). The bathrooms were excellent and surprisingly private. Each door has its own toilet, sink, shower, and bench. They are also air conditioned and heated, which is very rare. The proximity to town is very convenient if you need to buy some forgotten essentials. The only improvements I can think of is that an ice vending machine located within the campground would be a huge asset for the park.

Great site! #19 right on the river. There was a great fishing spot for kids under 16 ( Dry run creek) across the road within walking distance! But fishing for 16 and over on river was not that great as they generated and the river was high and fast all 4 days we were there. Also very steep and rocky. Unless you have a boat. There is a boat launch available. The cell service is just about non existent for ATT. Only 2 bars for Verizon. No TV channels on antennae. You must have satellite . Some sites have covered table ours did not. Overall good level site with water and 30/50 electric. No sewer connection but dump site in park.

Really nice campground despite the lack of full hookups. Great access to the Norfork as well as to Crooked Creek not far away for fishing for trout and smallmouth respectively. Excellent restaurant (The Grill at Whispering Woods) nearby and the Norfork Brewery is a place to go, try local brew if you are so inclined. One primary draw for this place is if you have kids or grandkids under 16, the trout hatchery allows fishing in Dry Run Creek (which is stocked with large and hungry trout and that is the the discharge from the hatchery) for those kids - fantastic place to go to be relatively assured of hooking some nice fish and getting those kids excited about fishing. Highly recommended.
