Beautiful and quiet campground in the Rockies. The loop we were on had plenty of shade and the facilities were clean. Monarch lake is just down the road with access to many miles of trails throughout the Arapaho National Recreation Area. I will definitely be back!

We stayed in the Big Loop at site 019. The photo on rec.gov for the site is not the 019 site (just fyi). Beautiful area, nice, clean, well kept sites. The bathrooms were beautifully maintained. The host is definitely attentive and very clean. Nice and quiet. There are food lockers, a firepit, and a picnic table at each site. Water onsite. If you forget or run out of firewood the host has some ($9 a bundle!). There is great fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, hiking, etc. in this area with several lakes around you. We have T-Mobile, no service at the site itself but up the road a bit there is.

We’ve been to different camping areas and this one was just ok. Really dusty and dry (at least when we went)... branches all over...
The worst part of our experience was the toilets 🤢 couldn’t even breath going in. Stinky and not clean at all. I heard a person throwing up next door... if they can do something about that would be great.

The trails and lakes around the area is great so you can have tones of fun fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, biking.

We stayed at Big Rock the smell of the pine were amazing. Having the water so close was an absolute delight. Please note there is no accessable water at the Big Rock campground. There has been for a few years and will take a few years to fix, your government. They have a 1000 plus barrel up past the Bay Moraine. The water barrel get filled maybe daily, not to sure. You can also go to Stillwater RV & campground toward Grand Lake to get some water too. Fill it up. We loved the campground.
