Very clean and well-maintained. Pretty quiet even though generators are allowed. I Loved it!

Very nice little campground and we have stayed here a handful of times before. It deserves a better rating and we will be back. The problem was our reserved site was taken. After a long day of travel we pulled in late, maybe 11:45pm. Someone was in our site with our reservation tag still displayed. Very disappointing!

Our third trip here. We love going here! It’s always clean and well maintained. Our dogs love it there too! Always very quiet and peaceful.

My campsite had our last name on it, which was a really nice confirmation that it was ours. The kids at other sites were quiet after dark and no one played music that was too loud. You could see the stars very clearly at night. It was beautiful. The hand sanitizer left for campers at the restrooms was appreciated. Our campsite had also clearly been raked and checked for us which is nice to arrive to. There aren't a lot of trails, but there is plenty of outdoor space. There was some heavy traffic you could hear very early in the morning.

Pros; Had a last minute (within the week) site available on a holiday weekend. Easy to find and less than an hour from home - we weren't trying to drive 3 hours for just one night of camping! Campsites were clearly labeled, and spaced out from neighbors a decent amount.
Cons; Campsite was NOT cleaned prior to our arrival - not camp managements fault entirely, don't leave a bunch of trash and food on the ground! Not all of the sites had ample shade, so if you've never been you might end up without a ton (not zero) shade. Quiet hours do not seem to be enforced at all - our neighbors in one of the group sites were playing music and shooting off fireworks until the early hours of the morning.
Overall - for one, last minute night of camping with just us and the dog it was fine. Likely to return with corrected expectations, and we still had a pleasant time despite the downsides

Lovely, quiet spots with nice separation. Always a great place to go birding in the spring, with lots of areas to walk right from the campground. Note there is no water or electric available.

Nice big site! We drove the bird tour which was very interesting information about the prairie!

Peaceful. Slight road noise in the distance. Good birding. Clean pit toilets.

The campsites are not close together and about half the sites have shade. It's a pretty quiet campground unless you have noisy camp neighbors, then the campground manager won't ask the neighbor to quite their party and the loud party continues past 3am, even though the manager was informed by other campers that the neighbors were very loud. Despite that, it's nice there are only 10 campsites at this campground and not a lot of people use the campground since it's out in the country without any public Lakes or reservoirs nearby. We went during the summer and they were out of water, plus any creeks and ponds were all dried up.

Excellent visit. We had planned to visit a month earlier in May but got snowed out. The month of June is the latest we would consider camping here due to the heat. Semi-truck traffic and loud noise from their brakes went all night from the nearby road.

Birds were great. Had two nests in the trees about our camp and the bird activity was fun to watch. Enjoyed the short hikes around camp and especially on the ranch/farm property that allows campers to walk on a trail on their land.

A wonderful oasis and good home base for family fun on the prairie. While not exactly prairie, the campground and recreation area provide great habitat for birds, a cool place to rest and a wonderful place to camp. The Farm Museum is very interesting, though it could use a little more interpretation as to what each of the implements is. The informal trails provide lots of entertainment, and when the creek is flowing (depends on upstream dam release) the spadefoot toads are everywhere! The campground host was friendly and did an excellent job of maintaining things tidy and clean in the campground and bathrooms.
Don't miss the birding tour - since we had a 3 year old, we just went a little ways and then went out and explored the shortgrass prairie, rather than doing the whole thing. But it's worth it for older kids.

I thought there would be electrical hookups, so that I could use my CPAP machine. We only stayed the first night because I couldn't sleep since I was unable to plug in my CPAP to help me breathe. I had to forfeit two prepaid addition days.

The camp host did a great job of keeping all areas clean! He also kindly provided us with a map of the area, as some roads were closed due to construction, it was very helpful.
