The bird trails next to the family campground were worth the visit, in and of themselves. The Dawn Chorus was like something out of a nature documentary. The species variation and activity level were top notch. The Pawnee National Grasslands auto tour was a short ride away, and the neighboring roads also offered plenty more birding opportunities. The camp host was very friendly and helpful.

Well maintained campground. Excellent area for birding, both at the campground and nearby.

Best camp site EVER! We come every year and enjoy every second. The campsite host this year is a wonderful human.

Very clean and well-maintained. Pretty quiet even though generators are allowed. I Loved it!

Clean, quiet and beautiful. You probably wont like it but I will return.

We like how much space is between each site. It feels very private. We plan to go back to do some bird watching.

Ive stayed here every summer for a while now, I enjoy the birdwatching and quieter location. This year the Campground host was very nice, stopping by my spot to say hi and talk for a while. Bathrooms are some of the cleanest Ive encountered in a campground. See you next year!

I made a cross country trip and this was probably my favorite campsite. It was clean and quiet. The bathroom was clean and didn't smell bad. I would definitely recommend this spot.

Clean sites, friendly campers, lots of wildlife were all positives for us. Unfortunately all of the water spigots were taped shut & unavailable for use.
@DavidR6871281 · Camped on Jul 10, 2024 at Campsite #3
There was no potable water available. Spigots are there, but they are all shut down, perhaps due to drought?

Beautiful location

Very nice little campground and we have stayed here a handful of times before. It deserves a better rating and we will be back. The problem was our reserved site was taken. After a long day of travel we pulled in late, maybe 11:45pm. Someone was in our site with our reservation tag still displayed. Very disappointing!

As usual the campground manager has kept everything neat and clean. Despite county road 77 being closed there was still good access to the Grasslands Birding Trail. With more rainfall the Pawnee Grasslands foliage is lush compared to a year ago. It is disappointing that there is still no fresh water available in the campgrounds. It's pain to have water if your stay is longer than a day. Unlike the last two years the 4th of July fireworks at the residence across the road did not go on for all hours of the night preventing sleep for weary travelers and traumatizing little children and pets.

Our third trip here. We love going here! It’s always clean and well maintained. Our dogs love it there too! Always very quiet and peaceful.

Nice campsite. Easy access to a local store which was unexpected. Beautiful grasslands and birds!

Very clean site and restrooms. Wonderful hiking trails. It was like waking up in an aviary with so many birds singing. Will go back.

It’s a nice enough campground - you can still hear the highway but not too close. They charge too much for a place with no water.

Beautiful Easter weekend. It was very quiet with very few campers. The vault toilets were very clean. The trees are a nice oasis on the prairie.

Excellent camp and the camp manager was great too.

My campsite had our last name on it, which was a really nice confirmation that it was ours. The kids at other sites were quiet after dark and no one played music that was too loud. You could see the stars very clearly at night. It was beautiful. The hand sanitizer left for campers at the restrooms was appreciated. Our campsite had also clearly been raked and checked for us which is nice to arrive to. There aren't a lot of trails, but there is plenty of outdoor space. There was some heavy traffic you could hear very early in the morning.

Pros; Had a last minute (within the week) site available on a holiday weekend. Easy to find and less than an hour from home - we weren't trying to drive 3 hours for just one night of camping! Campsites were clearly labeled, and spaced out from neighbors a decent amount.
Cons; Campsite was NOT cleaned prior to our arrival - not camp managements fault entirely, don't leave a bunch of trash and food on the ground! Not all of the sites had ample shade, so if you've never been you might end up without a ton (not zero) shade. Quiet hours do not seem to be enforced at all - our neighbors in one of the group sites were playing music and shooting off fireworks until the early hours of the morning.
Overall - for one, last minute night of camping with just us and the dog it was fine. Likely to return with corrected expectations, and we still had a pleasant time despite the downsides

This was the most peaceful camping trip I've ever taken. It was no problem to bring our own water, and the campsite was well maintained, quiet, and relaxing!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
