The space was beautiful! Plenty of shade and space to spread out. Table/firepit space is laid out well.

This was the second year our groups has booked a weekend at the campground. Despite a very rainy week leading up to our reservation, the ground was not at all sodden, and the roads were in very good shape. Though the potable water pumps went down a week before our trip, ExplorUS notified me promptly about the issue and reimbursed part of the fees to make up for it. The camp manager, Chris and his camp hosts were friendly, responsive, quick to solve problems, and great to work with. We were able to easily get enough water up to the site for our group, and everyone enjoyed another relaxing weekend at a gorgeous site. This remains a beautiful spot to camp, and I would highly recommend it.

I had no idea how large the campsites were here. I went with my 5 y/o and it seems like we had about 2 acres just for us, with space for ~5 other tents if we needed it. Others have complained about noise - the site was packed on a Friday, and we could definitely hear the other large groups, but only one dirt bike for about a minute and that was it. Plenty of room to explore and a great site overall. We'll be back (but hopefully with a lot more friends - this is a terrific group site).It took us 1.5 hours on a Friday to get there from Denver and an hour to get back on Saturday. Note that there is a playground and general store / liquor store about 3 miles away. No fires at this time of year allowed.

Each campsite provides a large space. We had plenty of room for common meals, wide games and activities. Restrooms are shared with other groups but there are enough, and they are well taken care of. They are spacious, well accessible for all. Parking is also plentiful.We had a great time. Thank you!

We were looking to reserve a good camping spot for the 4th of July and pickle gulch seemed like just the place. We weren’t sure how it would pan out as it was our first trip to Pickle Gulch. We rented group site #4 and it seemed to be the most secluded out of all the sites, though we never really checked the other 5 out. It’s tucked away way in the back of the camping area, so be ready for about a 5 min walk to and from the parking lot. A wheelbarrow was provided which helped a lot, but it was the only working one so our group had to take turns unloading/loading. The camp host never really bothered us but it would have been nice for a hello and a checkup to tell them about the other broken wheelbarrow. I would recommend definitely bringing a little wagon or something to help with the load-out just in case. The sites themselves were beautiful, set among aspens and established older arbor that was just beautiful in the wind. We saw a couple moose on our second morning while on a trail near the area. It rained off and on the time we were there so I will definitely be bringing a 10x10 pop-up canopy for future trips. Bathrooms were conveniently located. There was some shooting in the distance as folks were exercising their 2A rights but hey it’s 4th of July so if you aren’t into that thing just be forewarned. The drive and location wasn’t enough to deter a few coworkers to stop by for the day w the kiddos and they loved frolicking around in the nearby meadow and collecting fallen branches for the fire. It got pretty cold at night in the mountains (even in July) so bring a good amount of blankets or heaters to stay cozy at night. All around, a great experience and we will be back! 09/10

Mike was the best host! Came around and checked on everyone, had firewood ready to buy, and gave us an update on wildlife in the area.

Best campground close to Denver.

Was at group site 5. It was a beautiful site in pine forest. Pit bathrooms at each site. 2 minute walk from car to site. Wheel barrels were greatly appreciated.

We LOVED this camp ground. We rented out all 6 group spots for our wedding and it rocked. We had 50 people but could have easily had more. Plenty of parking, drinkable water in the spigots, clean vault toilets. It was such a magical weekend for us and was a treat for our out of town guests to see a little of what our world is like here in this beautiful state! It’s also so easy to get to and only 50 min from Denver so it was super convenient for those flying in.

The hosts were also awesome!!

If you are having a group, I recommend reaching out to Denver Firewood for a drop off. It was extremely convenient and they were able to even organize a second drop off when we realized we needed more.

Site 5 was a huge group site with 10 tent pads! It was about 170 paces from the parking lot and was wonderfully shaded with lots of evergreens and aspens. Host and management was helpful, letting us know about the playground at the adjacent (closed) group picnic site and emptying the fire pit. There were tons of mosquitos, so pack your repellent--then be sure to put that repellent in one of the spacious (two doubles!) bear boxes. We had a really great time, and our only complaint is that the site is downwind from a vault toilet that needed servicing.

Loved the campground. Plenty of trees, shade, and separation from the other group sites. The camp host was not available unfortunately so we were unable to purchase firewood at the site. This was the only negative from our perspective. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. We'll just make sure to bring firewood next time.

We have organized a group trip to Pickle Gulch two years in a row, and will continue to come back. The group sites are spacious and quite private with some tent pads tucked back in the trees, and the benches around the fire pit are handy. Do note they all have a short walk from the parking lot to reach the sites, for folks with mobility issues or if you're bringing in a lot of stuff. But this is the perfect group spot within an hour from Denver!

Huge site with plenty of options for choosing a tent pad that suited our needs. There was a ton of shade at site 001 and good eyeline that gave the kids a chance to run around over a pretty big area without getting out of sight. Nice big distances to the next campsite too, so we weren’t bothering each other. The bathrooms were spotless and the camp host friendly. We really loved it and are looking into coming back later in the summer.

Beautiful location! I’ve never camped at a group site before and was pleasantly surprised. There was lots of space- we only had 8 campers in our group but the site can accommodate more. There was a comfortable distance between our site and the the other sites at the campground. Possibly each group site has its own bathroom building with a men’s and women’s side (would be nice if they were not gendered). We were there the second week of October and it looked like all the water pumps were already turned of for the winter. I was sort of glad that the big day use sites were closed because it meant fewer people in the area- I’m not sure how I’d feel about a couple groups of 150+ right near our serene forest camp. I do hope to return!

Beautiful site and we had a great time camping with a preschool group! Reasons for only one star: No camp host so some other groups were loud very late at night, and the water ran out while we were there - minor inconvenience, but still odd.

Few bathroom facilities were unlocked, campground was closed when I arrived even though it was meant to be open, no water available. Didn't quite meet expectations, but went on a nice little hike up to an old cabin. I appreciated the bear boxes provided.

We love this site. We hold a tournament here every year and this year you didn't even let it rain on us.
Having the privacy of the reserved site makes it great. We enjoy the hosts and they are very nice and work hard to
keep the grounds very clean.

This is such a beautiful spot! We had reserved a group site and had it all to ourselves (poor planning) but it was absolutely delightful. Next time, we'll make sure people can join us

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
