Great campground, fantastic hosts, and a beautiful section of the White Mountains.

our family has gone here for several decades, this year wasn't the best. the toilets have been on the repair list for years. getting jagged and rusty. one toilet fell over on a lady, its good she didn't fall in the hole. the replacement keeps getting delayed. overall a very nice area to camp. lots of sights and wildlife to see. especially south of big lake. it was raining quite a bit while we were there, but the forest service had nearly everything closed down. south of big lake everything was open. besides camp grounds, day hikes and parking were closed and main roads. seems a bit over the top, poor forest service management.

Winn is one of our favorite campgrounds. We try to make it there at least once or twice every summer or fall. The camp is in a truly beautiful location in the White Mountains. There is excellent fishing and hiking nearby. The camp hosts are friendly and keep the camp in great condition.

Camp was good, bathroom was a little dated but clean. Site itself was an overrun with small trees and made it tough to set up camp. Will definitely be going back but a different site.

Winn Campground is a peaceful, high-elevation spot tucked in the pines near Big Lake a great escape from the Arizona heat. The temps were perfect during my stay, and the campsites are nicely spaced with plenty of shade and forest cover, which helped during the extreme winds (gusts up to 60mph!). Most trails were closed due to high fire risk, so I couldnt hike as planned, but the campground made a great base for relaxing and regrouping. I ended up making a side trip to Pie Town, NM for some pie therapy totally worth it. The owners were super relaxed and accommodating, which made the experience even better. I did a short jog around the campground loop, which felt refreshing in the cool air. No hookups or cell service (at least for me), but that added to the off-grid charm. Id absolutely come back when the trails reopen a calm, cozy spot for camping and exploring when the weather cooperates!

We loved our visit to Winn National Forest Campground. The spots were clean, roomy and the campground was beautiful and had perfect amenities for our stay. The camp host, Robin was friendly and we hope to be back soon.

We love Winn campground for its proximity to trails. Also, the hosts are always so friendly and accommodating. The place is also quiet and the restrooms clean.

Vault toilets were in desperate need for updates. For the cost per night at campgrounds, this should be a priority. The host was pleasant (she said she wasnt the regular host). I like the pull through parking for most campsites. Several sites I looked at didnt have good tent site options.too rocky or full of brush, but we made it work.
@JoanneHFABD162 · Camped on Jul 15, 2024 at Campsite #18
Site 18 did not have a good tent site . Despite that was a great campground. There was a bear wandering around at night looking for garbage or other food left out.

Nice spaced sites. Older campgrounds that need grading and updates. Never saw a host so cant comment on that. There are several unusable site in the first come area due to not being maintained at all but the sites that are over in that area are pretty nice, better than the reserve area. Little to no cell service - Verizon

Campground was beautiful and peaceful. Plenty of space between spots.

I'm conflicted about rating this campground, because it is so great, I would hate for the "influencers" to find out about it. But is is a really great peaceful high country campground, a great escape from the desert heat. The hosts are great. Close to some really sublime hiking and driving areas.

I would have higher rating but the bathrooms really need to be upgraded. Great place to visit. Nice hosts.

Your site is a bit cumbersome. And difficult for those of us not totally integrated to software. I found it impossible to change my reservation. Once I got to the site, the manager was quite accomodating. When I was required to leave two days before the end of my extended stay, she was not there as I was leaving. As I tried to navigate a refund for these 2 days through your system, you made it so difficult that I gave up on getting the refund at all. Wasn't worth the hassle. If you truly want a suggestion have a programmer go through the process of being the consumer of your product and FIX IT

Beautiful location and a nice respite from the Valley heat. The camp host is a gem.

My review is three parts:1 - Overall condition of the campground is 1 star. The overgrowth of vegetation in most sites make the fire rings and picnic tables basically unusable. When we arrived, there were three full doggie poop bags near our site post (we do not have a dog). At one point, the site host ran over the bags and just left them!2 - Site descriptions listed on this website are not accurate. We had a reservation for a specific site due to our size. When we arrived, it was evident that we could not fit. We were directed to another location in the first come first served area and luckily we fit in one after a lot of maneuvering. 3 - Site Host was not helpful. When we arrived at approximately 3:30, only site tags were on a wire near the check in window with a sign stating to take your tag and a map and proceed to your site. No maps were available but we found our site very quickly. When it was evident that we were not going to fit, we went to the camp host trailer and she didn't even open the door. She spoke to my husband from her trailer and told us about a site that we might fit in. We only saw her one time after that and that's when she ran over the poop bags that had been left near our site post. As people checked in and out of the camp, no one ever came by to check sites before the next campers checked in.

Winn is one of our favorite campgrounds. The sites are good sized and you don’t feel too close to your neighbor. The camp hosts have always been very helpful and maintained the toilets well there is great hiking and fishing nearby, but just staying in the campsite and enjoying the cool and the trees is just as wonderful.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
