We love this campground. Sites are not usually too close together. Well maintained. Staff is always friendly in spite of working at a very busy location.

This was my wife's and I second camping trip to Aspen within 5 weeks. We have just gotten into kayaking and found Woods Canyon Lake a good place to get acquainted with our kayaks and fish a little. The entire area is very scenic. We watched several Bald Eagles fish the lake. We really like the large campsites at Aspen and relative privacy compared to many other campgrounds. Our first stay was in Site 010. A nice site but was a little hard to find a nice level area to pitch a tent; many rocks and roots. Our second stay was in site 044. A better site for our personal liking. Roomy and actually several places that would accommodate our fairly large tent. We scouted the campground and saw many spaces where it would be hard to place a tent, but no big deal for RV'ers. That brings up my only complaint about the campground in general. Many of the Rv's around us ran generators for hours on end. My definition of a "Quiet" generator must not coincide with the park's guidelines regarding "quiet generators". I don't get how people want to go "Camping" but run generators for hours for whatever reason. My wife and I go to these places to escape city sounds and enjoy nature. Hard to do when idiots need their electricity even when "camping". We plan on going back a couple of times this summer, fires and time permitting, and hopefully find a quiet spot.

We stayed at Aspen early summer and we impressed but this visit was even better! The bathrooms are spotless! The camp hosts do an incredible job and make rounds often. This is by far the cleanest campground I've ever been to. We love it at Aspen!

Excellent location to visit all sites along the rim. One day toured below the rim on the Young road, another above the rim from Forest Lakes toward Showlow to see wild horses, another west on FS300 to Chevlon Canyon, etc. Campsite was distanced from other sites so no problems with threat of virus. Campsites were cleaned almost immediately when vacated. Restrooms were cleaned multiple times daily and immediately when problems reported.

Nice spot in a big campground. Lots of room for kids to bike around. There is a walking biking trail to the rim, and a short walk to the lake. You can rent kayaks and paddleboards. Fun times, but no flush toilets, hot water or showers. Sometimes people are quite rowdy on the big holidays, so we stick to off weekends.
