We had a great time camping at Aspen Campground even in the rain! Woods Canyon Lake is beautiful. Get there early to fish it does get packed fast on the shoreline. The little store has sweat shirts / pants, tshirts, cups for memories and everything you might need. The check in was easy and they lady was very kind. The forest was just beautiful walking the trails is breathtaking.

Always a nice stay! Bathrooms can get a bit smelly but its kind of expected with pit toilets. If people would actually read the multiple signs to keep lid and door closed it would be much better.

A great campsite near stunning views of the Mogollon Rim and boat rentals at Woods Canyon Lake. Our campsite was spacious with enough room for 4 large tents and 8 people. The facilities were clean. We were near a new remodel outhouse and it was well lit and very clean. The camp hosts were friendly and kept the entire camp loop clean. It was quiet at night with no loud noise or music. In the middle of the night you could hear coyotes howling and elk bugling. All in all a great high country experience.

We spent 8 days at Aspen Campground at # 13 initially and then moved over to # 87 for the balance of our time. Overall the staff were FANTASTIC. Very helpful assisting us to transition from one spot to the other and in our daily interaction. The ONLY problem we experienced, like so many, were with the mosquito's. They were horrible and persistent pests and the only negative during our stay at Aspen Campground. We will be returning but bringing better defensive measures to defend ourselves against those mosquito's. Glad to see the improvements being done at the campground and hopefully those will continue especially the road section NOT YET REPAIRED into Woods Canyon Lake.

Nice campground with easy access to Woods Canyon Lake or the Rim. We could walk to the lake in about 15 minutes and it was a 1 mile drive to the nearest Rim overlook which was very nice for some evening photos. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended! The campground was full both days we were there and that was midweek. We were able to get some nice shots of Ospreys fishing in the lake as well as a juvenile Bald Eagle. Can't wait to get back

Great place for family fun but the lake gets over crowded.
