The district is home to approximately 2,200 square miles of pristine wilderness, primarily consisting of ponderosa pine and aspen forests. Luna Lake Campground is located in the Alpine Ranger District, Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests (4 hrs 7 min east of Apache Junction, AZ) with an elevation of 7,978 feet. There are a total of 32 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to mid October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 27 and 192 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Fees range from $20.00 to $125.00. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.
