It was a great trip. People at the lodge were friendly and accommodating. We got to our area and it was perfectly clean and well mantained. Bathrooms in excellent condition. Will definitely be back with my family!

Very well-maintained campground with some good views and plenty of shady sites. The hiking trail that encircles the park is a terrific bonus as well!

This place is gorgeous, well maintained, and has some of the most friendly camp hosts I've met. Be forewarned that if you have a larger trailer (28' Airstream here), the lower loops around site 114 get VERY VERY tight and may rash your tires as you go around the corner. Tight spaces for trailers and limited to no parking if you're total length doesn't fit in the space.

Great campground. Campsite layout is very thoughtful and offered ample space between the sites. Bathrooms were pretty clean and trash cans were placed at the beginning of the loops for convenience and ease. We had a small hking trail along the back of our campsite and a good view of the valley. Overall this is one of my favorite spots in SoCal.

Fire: Campground had a NO FIRE policy while we were there so we went into the small town and grabbed already cooked food from the deli (even propane stoves were a no-no when we went). Fire policy was in place during Aug. when the fire hazard was "extreme" so I had no problem with the policy. All the other campsites also followed the rules so I assume enforcement of the policy was happening, but nobody ever stopped by.

Flora and Fauna: We saw a deer, skunk and lots of birds. The campground has a good variety of trees and offers nice shade in most of the sites we saw. Our site had an acorn tree which had cute little acorns everywhere. We also had some wildflowers along the back of the site that were nice to look at. Overall this was a nice departure from some of the other campgrounds that are around Los Angeles.

Star watching: The night sky was clear when we went and we were able to see a good handful of constellations. The stars were pretty bright as the campground has very little light pollution.

Getting There: We took the road in that goes through Wrightwood. The campground turn is right after the town on the right hand side, and was an easy drive up and down. The road isn't too steep or have too many curves. As someone can get car sick, this road was fantastic and an ease compared to other mountain roads. * We went tent camping and did not drive anything larger than a compact SUV up.*
