We were just passing through when we found this campground. I am so glad that we did. Booked 1 night and ended up staying 4. Clean sites, hot shower. Even though we were Surrounded by other campers it still felt private and safe.

This is a clean, peaceful, and fun location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The water activities are great! I do not think there is a bad site at this campground. We were at site 40 and the narrow road was not a problem for us. The secluded location was refreshing! Great trails that were very scenic. We were there for a University of Alabama graduation (Roll Tide!) and we explored the beautiful campus. We went into Birmingham and enjoyed the culture and the great history of the Civil Rights. We stopped at Aww SHUCKS Avondale for a delicious vegan meal!

This is one of the nicest ACoE campgrounds I've stayed at. The volunteers do an amazing job maintaining the park and it is nicely secluded from outside noises, aside from an occasional boat.

this is an outstanding, well-maintained campground. the sites are large and well spread out providing the privacy i enjoy when camping. the views of the river/lake are unparalleled. the sites are flat with good solid, level parking pads.

the staff was extremely kind, friendly, and helpful. ranger billie stopped by to great me and tell me about the place and the volunteer program. she, like all the rest of the staff, was warm and welcoming.

from what i saw, the bathroom and other facilities were clean and well-maintained. i stayed in site 40 which is pretty far and down a large hill from the bathroom but it wasn’t a problem since there is plenty of parking nearby

if you are camping in the tuscaloosa area, do yourself a favor and stay here. i would definitely stay here again.

This was our first stay here (and our 2nd trip as new campers). The site we had was Great! Loved that it was in the water. Very clean and sites are so nice. Concrete pads, fire pit, grill , picnic table and deck. Without a doubt will stay here again. It is a must go to for anyone. Park personnel was so nice and helpful about other parks as well.

The high number sites are tight for larger rv's. The host was great and advised us upon arrival and offered to take us to the spot on the golf cart to check it. She even went to the trouble of swapping our site with someone she personally knew was arriving later, but had a smaller camper. Great service. Free firewood too.

Our visit was good. The SPEED BUMPS are not normal speed bumps. They shake RV so badly that you have to stop completely to cross them.It had been 10 yr since our last visit and my wife and I both were hoping those SPEED BUMPS had been corrected and some removed(too many)Grade "A" on the camp sites, but an "F" on the speed bumps. Please, please do something about those SPLEED BUMPS-they take away from the pleasure of camping there.

Nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and take stroll on a nature trail and check out the wildlife, such as deer, turkey, etc. Deer are every where. Nice clean campground. Fire wood is free. Plenty space between campsites. Host were very friendly and helpful.

Always enjoy the Location , the Attendants at the park are always helpful ( I always learn Something about camping from their experience) . Thankyou Recreation.gov and volunteers for us to be able to appreciate this benefit!

Some spaces are small for a 42 ft RV, you should call to get recommendations if you have a long RV. We were surprised how clean and well kept the grounds are. One of the attendants brought us firewood because we did not bring a vehicle. Outstanding service. We will be regulars.
