Very nice waterfront site, everything worked properly. I did not use the bathouses so I can't comment on that.

Had great time. Caught some catfish. Host were very nice. Just wish it was a little better ATT service. I know that is out of your control. But we had a great time with our camping club. Will be back

The park is fabulous but has been forgotten. Lots of sites, great views, plenty of room. Not much nearby so its good for relaxing. Try The Lodge Steak & Fish, great food, beautiful restaurant. Internet was fair. We could only pick up 3 channels on TV. Site 120 is FHU.

We love pickensville campground! The camping area is well maintained while keeping the wilderness feel we love. Victoria who is at the gate was so friendly but made her presence known around the campground. She frequently stopped to check on the campers. We cant wait to go back.

We were on the water with full hookups, but had low voltage (44VAC) on L2. Had to use our 30 amp converter to 50 amp. Part is very nice with lots of trees. Which drop a lot of leaves and cover the roads, but the hosts did a good job of blowing them off so that you could see the edges of the road.We had lunch at Angies in Aliceville, nice BBQ sandwich and fries.

Great campground! FHU located in the right place and worked as they should. Nothing to do except relax and watch the barges go past.

My wife and I stayed on site 120 which is a river site with full hook-ups. We had two other campers with us on 119 and 121. Site are level with fire pit, grill and picnic table, and additional table for whatever you want to use it for. There are many different sites also on the river front that does not have sewer but have better views of the river. Most sites are shady, but one of our campers had satellite and one able to get signals. We had OTA and you can get 6-14 stations from Bham and Columbus MS. Barges travel the channel 2-4 per day so it is nice to see them go up and down the river. We also had some really big boats go by. If you like bicycle riding or walking the campground is very level with plenty of riding in the campground. You can ride by boat to the lock to see the lock and watch barges go thru the lock. It is slightly less than three miles from the entrance to the campground to the lock and it is entirely level ride. There is a lake inside the campground that has catfish, bream , and even some crappie in it. You can also fish from the river bank. There is a boat launch in the campground and plenty of room to park your boat. Aliceville is 10 miles from the campground and Columbus MS is 20 miles which has anything you want and some good things to see. A new Dollar General is about 2-3 miles from the campground in Pickensville. Be sure to go see the Tom Bevill Visitor Center and Alabama Skag Boat if they are open (COVID). A visit to the Old Country Bakery, run by Mennonites, in Brooksville MS is a must do. They have a great Taco Salad for lunch and all kinds of delicious cakes, pies and breads. Cinnamon rolls and banana nut breads are great.

We have always loved camping at Pickensville, no matter the season or the site we're on. Sites are well spaced out with level concrete parking pads, large graveled area with picnic table, lantern pole, grill, grill table. The hosts have always been friendly and helpful (if needed). The campground is large with mostly level roads...those and the trails make for fun bike riding or walking/hiking. This is a great campground if you have children in tow. You cannot go wrong staying at Pickensville!
