This campground is everything you want it to be. Many large pull-through sites, lots of woods, lots of space for each site. A small playground for the children, but older kids would probably enjoy biking or walking around. It is set very far back from the main road and while we were there in the winter and there were not stock car races, I can see why you might be able to hear the races while they are happening.Literally, the only issue is the bathhouses. There are two in the Catoma loop; both are old and poorly maintained. They are dirty, and after watching how little attention the cleaning crew gave each bathhouse, I'm not surprised. I recognize how little I paid for this campground, but I feel more than 5 minutes should have been spent giving the bathhouses their weekly cleaning, my other experiences with other government-run campgrounds are that the bathhouse are in much better shape than here.We did use the laundry machines. Those were free to use and clean.

I love Gunter Hill camp ground. There needs to be a lot of road work done in places. The biggest place is in front of site 31 on the Catoma side. There were several places that need more gravel around the fire pit and yard to sit around the fire. Some sites are holding water that has to be walked through just to get to your car or truck. Not enough drainage. This has gotten more and more in 2 or 3 years. I love this camp ground and hate to go some where else. It just needs a little word to clear this all up.

Nice quiet campground with level concrete pads and full hookups... Great stop over near Montgomery and historic Selma voting rights NPS interpretive center.

Loved being on the loop. So much room around us. So relaxing being out in nature.

Gunter Hill is our stop 2 yrs in a row, both going to and coming from Florida! It’s the place we’ve come to enjoy and even stayed a couple days extra on our trip home to Illinois last March! Beautiful campground!

Our favorite campground. This trip was on lot 50 and had excellent signal on both T-Mobile and ATT.

A favorite stop over on any trip south. Convenient to I-65 near Montgomery, AL. Spacious, well-spaced sites. Full hook-ups. A 2-lane road that makes backing in a big rig easier. This was our 3rd stay. We booked an extra night so we could kayak on the reservoir. The Fall colors reflected in the water were gorgeous! There were also many water fowl. We will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful park. Very quiet and sites are huge. We moved twice because we extended our stay. The pull-through site #50 was super size. Hard to get in on weekends. Jim Scot was very helpful with our reservations. One thing, a better way to know which sites are available would help. There were no show sites all over. We stayed in Catoma. Antioch was more rustic and sites we a bit smaller. Also, racetrack on Saturday night was LOUD.

Large spaces, well maintained. We had a wonderful 3 days with friends camping. Also very close to shopping and the Alabama Nature Center. We really enjoyed our mini vacation.
