Tons of waterfront sites and the sites are very spacious with nice level concrete pads. All of the hook ups were in good working order. Couldnt beat the price and it was a short drive to Montgomery downtown museums. The only reason I didnt give five stars is because the bathrooms/showers and the trash cans needed attention.

Site #35, across from the bath house and playground, not right on the water, but a short walk away. We liked that the site was large, and the concrete drive is very long. Full hookups. Laundry is free, but one of the two washers wasnt working and cycles take a long time. This campground is large and beautiful. Lots of room to ride our bikes. We saw cormorants, and heard coyotes and owls. I love the Spanish moss. Starlink had obstructions, but we never had an interruption in service in December. We will be back!

Normally I would say my experience was excellent. The only problem this time was a MAJOR problem, but not the fault of the employees. We had reservations (many sites) for our 11th annual family Thanksgiving gathering. We were in the section that lost power one day for 5 1/2 hours but then lost power again on the Monday before Thanksgiving. We were some that had to cancel all our plans and leave. The employees were excellent in advising us and helping us and refunding us. Last we heard, the power is still out and will be for several more days at least. We understand that this is also a big financial loss for the park and that makes us sad!

We love Gunter Hill Campground! Our site was very long, and level. The site had a picnic table, bbq grill, and fire pit. Site Catoma 035 has full hookup, and overlooks the Catoma River. Theres lots of space between campsites, so youre not too close to each other. We will be back!!!

The park was clean and the concrete pads make it almost perfect. Full hookup for such a reasonable price is unheard of in the private sector. The checkin staff was very nice. The only complaint is the bathhouses. They were full of spider webs and mold. They definitely need to be updated and deep cleaned. All in all for an overnight stay after 12 hours on the road it was an enjoyable stay.

We really love Gunter Hill Campground. The grounds are kept clean and nice and the office workers are always so very nice. If there is any downside, it is not Gunter Hill employees, but the Federal employees that come to clean the restrooms. They spend a lot of time on their phones and they don't do a very good job of cleaning the restrooms. I know that is not a fun job, but it could be done better! Does that stop us from coming, NO!

Our site was on the creek. That allowed me to tie my boat up at the campsite.

We stayed 3 nights over the Christmas weekend. Great campground, lots of space and well maintained sites. We were there during particularly cold weather so our activities were limited. With our America the Beautiful pass we paid $15 per night for full hookups.

We love camping at Gunter Hill. This weekend, I provided a Dutch Oven demonstration for the Boy Scouts. The facility was great for me and especially for the scouts. We were able to use on of the campsites near the bath house.

This seem to be an older Campground with a great deal of use was somewhat disappointed was expecting a little bit more but it was OK the host spent about 10 minutes on the phone when I arrived before he even turned to look at me but I guess thats the way it is sometimes It was disappointing. I wont be back here.

The spaces were very large and level with all being concrete pads in the Catoma area. They were well spaced apart. At site 35 you have the bathroom light on all night. A lot of the days you would get a swamp gas smell. I guess people who live in the area are acclimated to it.

Clean, quiet and large pads. The only recommendation would be signage/directions on the road to the various sites.
