The nicest COE campground we have stayed at with fully paved roads, spacious concrete sites with full hookups, privacy and lake views from our site. We will certainly be staying again when visiting Montgomery, AL area. Highly recommend the Legacy sites for a full day experience.

Gunter Hill is a great campground. The sites are concrete slabs, are very large with plenty of room between the sites. Each site has a picnic area with a fire pit. The campground is very clean. Overall a beautiful place to camp!

This is a great campground. We stayed in Catoma section which has full hookups. The site was concrete and plenty long and wide. A picnic table, fire ring and hook-pole were there. Voltage was good and water pressure was a bit high but no problem with our adjustable pressure regulator. The sewer, power pedestal and water were all at the back of the site. Our site was private with trees between the other sites. There's a Dollar General where you turn off to go to the campground and a small convenience store about a mile east.

Very roomy sites. Easy to access and nice and quiet. Facilities are old but clean and well maintained. Deep South feeling with moss in the trees and the muddy waters of the Alabama river running slowly. Friendly staff, easy in, easy out. We will return

This was probably the nicest CoE park we have stayed in. The sites were all concrete and most were really long. That with full hookups and many with creek/lake views made the park one of the best. When we were there they even offered free laundry, but I think that option will end soon since people are abusing the machines. There were 2 washers and 2 dryers that worked great when we arrived, but by the time we left one of the washers would fill with water, but not do anything else. We heard rumors that someone had overloaded the machines really badly and effectively broke one of them. So sad. If all you want to do is enjoy the park, this is a nice place to do just that.

Gunter Hill is a gem. Picturesque, peaceful, and HUGE campsites. Being in close proximity to Montgomery, the cell coverage is excellent. Very friendly, helpful hosts. The only blip on the radar is the lack of hiking trails. Otherwise, two big thumbs up.

Outstanding! We are frequent users of USACE CG's all over the country. This is perhaps the best one we have ever seen. Spacious sites, nice facilities, friendly staff, convenient location for spending time in Montgomery. All good!

Gunter Hill never disappoints no matter the season. There are no bad sites in the Catoma area and all are full hookup. Dollar General within a mile - so if you forgot something or need snacks or groceries...just a hop and a skip away.

This is a very nice park with well planned, spacious sites. Most of the sites are well shaded with good views of the water. A good place for bicycle riding, walking, fishing, reading a book, or just watching the river going by. The gate attendant was very friendly and helpful.

Cement pads were good and the space between campsites were great. The dog was happy-it was a very walkable campground. Our day trip to the town of Wetumpka was a high point

This is a great park. We camped at site 31. The main bathhouse on the Catoma side is very nice, always clean, warm, with good lighting. Hallelujah, there are a couple of washers and dryers. We enjoyed walking and riding bikes. Prattville is very close by with plenty of shopping, restaurants, as well as medical facilities. Montgomery is close by too although traffic is a headache at certain times. If you enjoy casinos or golf too, checks the boxes too. I am looking forward to fishing in April and plan to bring my boat.

I’d rather give this info to someone at ACOE to correct the issues. The park is unkept, the grass needs cutting, the bath houses need repair, the walkway between Antioch and Catoma is DANGEROUS! The park has been left in the hands of park hosts who do nothing more than sit in the gatehouse. I’ve been to other ACOE parks and was totally taken aback by the lack of care at Gunter Hill. If someone knows how to contact ACOE about this situation I’d love to hear it.
