This is a very good campground. I was glad to see the new bathhouse but tge old ones could use some TLC.

Was our first visit here, and the park lived up to its descriptions from other travelers who have recommended it to us for several years. the abundant rain in the area for the last several weeks made for plenty of mosquitoes but that is Mother Nature and a part of camping.

Gunter Hill Campground is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The campsites in the Catoma Loop are nicely spaced for added privacy. Our site (Catoma 32) was completely level. Great place for hiking and biking. We noticed that the bath house in the Antioch Loop was being torn down, and we assume a new one will be built. Hopefully, that will also happen in Catoma Loop. The bath houses and laundry area do need to be improved on and updated. The boat launch was nice although we did not use it. The overlook deck and trail bridges need some attention. Building some fishing piers/decks would be a great addition. We will definitely camp here again.

Park is very pretty. Lots of oak trees. Loved that. BUT lots of ants. Yikes We had a waterfront site w obstructed view. Wish the sites were cleared out for better viewing. It would make this park PERFECT!

Nice park, nice facilities and great layout. Too bad you get the smell from the sewer plant if the wind blows one direction and smell from the paper mill if it blows the other.

Gunter Hill is such a great and peaceful campground. The staff is absolutely the best. Debbie went above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip. Also Lee came by and visited with us we sat and talked and just enjoyed getting to spend some time with her

Gunter Hill, Catoma Loop, is a very fine COE campground. Long, level, concrete pads and FULL hookups at all sites. Verizon and ATT are two+ bars at most sites in Catoma Loop. Most sites offer decent privacy and spacing. Sites along the river are best. A boat launch is near the entrance and part of the Campground. Antioch Loop is disappointing. Small, gravel roads and sites. Sites are much smaller and closer together. It's really disappointing.I will stay at Catoma Loop again and again but would only stay in Antioch loop as a last resort. Cell service in Antioch is also problematic but one bar (or better) is generally available.

We enjoyed our stay at Gunter Hill. Our site 32 was very nice. Had a very long drive and very nice space. Glad they had laundry facilities too. Wish they had firewood for sale at the park. My husband was taking a shower at one of the shower houses and the light kept going on and off on him so he had to take a shower in the dark. We will return sometime in the future.

Very clean campground and spots are far enough apart. We went into Montgomery and went to the Legacy Museum and peace and Justice memorial. Highly recommend both.
