Large campground where we spent one night. Quiet area with good size lots. Only complaint is the bathrooms need to be updated.

Gunterhill campground is the best campground. It is quiet, woodsy and the host have always been very friendly. We recommend this park 100%

Our first visit here, wont be our last!Great park that offers large and level sites that give you plenty of space and the park is well maintained and clean. Easy access and wonderful hosts. Love the Spanish moss hanging from the trees that reminds me of Savannah, GA.Highly recommend and definitely will be coming back!

We love Gunther Hill. It's just too bad it was raining that we couldn't enjoy the campground as much as we would have like on our one night stay

The campsites are very large and easy to get in and out of. This park is near a raceway so be prepared to hear very loud noises when they are having races. Thankfully they ended by 10 pm. My one complaint is the small bath house. It was not clean and had spiders. This is why I only gave this park a good. I didnt use the larger bathhouse since it was on the other side of the park, but when I walked inside it definitely looked a little better. I recommend you confirm that no races will be held while you are there or you will probably be disappointed.

Review for Catoma loop of campground. Used drive through site #55 for 7 days. Lots of room. All sites paved elec. Water & Sewer. Coin laundry at shower house.There are NO bad sites. Only a couple smaller sites best used by 25ft. Or smaller Trailer. Believe rest good for most any large rig. Check specs on web site.

Everyone from the couple that signed us in at the gate to the caretakers were very friendly. The slots are always clean and ready when we get there. We feel that it is a secure area and have been enjoying it there for 4 years and never have had a problem.

What an absolutely gorgeous place. Big sites and full hook-ups!! You dont find that every day at a COE park.The staff and check in were very friendly, the facilities were immaculate. Cant say enough good about this awesome place.

Very nice and clean camp ground. Sites are big and plenty of space between you and other sites.
We loved our week here and had friends come with us and park their campers close to ours.

Nice shaded campground with full hookups which is a plus. Grass was a little high but overall the campground is very nice. We did not use the bathrooms so can't say how they are. There are no signs directing you throughout the campground. Would go back!

Great campground. Playgrounds are great. My children love them. Catoma loop is full hook ups. Fishing is very good on this section of Alabama river as well. Definitely worth a stay on either side.

I have yet to be disappointed by an Army Corp of Engineers campground, but this one sets a new standard. There are two loops, the Catoma and the Antioch. Our original site was in the Antioch Loop, but the gatekeeper said that they had had a cancellation for a pull-thru site in the Catoma Loop. The site was very easy access and the sites in this loop were separated by great distances (I would estimate an average of 120'). The sites on the Antioch Loop are closer together and more heavily wooded. Some of the roads may be a little bit of a challenge for a larger rig. There was a slightly swampy smell around dusk, which I didn't notice the next morning. We used this campground as an overnight while in transit and, while it was a bit off the interstate, it was well worth the trip.

I love the Catoma Loop because of the full hook-up sites. Wish you could do some improvement to the Antioch Loop side. The main road on that side needs some work, it would be great if you could afford to make it a full hook-up also.

Gunterhill is beautiful and spacious. We really enjoyed the size of our spot (#55) and we felt like we were alone in the woods. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing is that we had trouble getting cell service (Verizon). We found that as we walked through the campground, the cell service was better in other areas. Even the spot across the street from us had coverage. We will certainly stay here again, but may try to get a spot with better cell coverage.

This is a totally lovely campground. Bathhouses are clean. We were in Catoma at site 55 a pull through and nice level site. We are used to fire pits being cleaned before arrival at COE and this was not done. This was only important because the campers before us left paper plates and paper towels in the fire pit. The site was not occupied the night prior to our arrival.We arrived prior to the Covid 19 shut down and were allowed to stay through our reservation which was nice. However the female camp host seemed hostile to us staying stating several times that we might have to leave sooner.The Ranger informed us this was not the case. We have never had a hostile camp host so we were surprised by her behavior. We had asked about the possibility of staying longer which may have rubbed her the wrong way.
