Great to have secured a pull-thru site for one night on our back home from Florida. The check-in went very well & easy after driving for 9 hours, water pressure was great! So nice to go a little out of our way ($15/senior citizen fee) & be able to have a peaceful nights sleep. When is the old section going to be improved for more sites to be able to choose from?

We had been staying in Gunter Hill as a halfway point on our way to Pensacola. Next time we will explore Montgomery, we will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed a pleasant & peaceful 2 day stay at Gunter Hill CG. Facility appeared well maintained. Entry staff were friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again.

SUCH a nice park! Easy access, wide open spaces, well-maintained sites we had a water view and an early morning 4-footed visitor. As with most COE parks, the landscape is NOT all asphalt/concrete with zero plants/trees we love them! It was quiet and peaceful - just what our travel-weary souls needed.

Site bordered the river, large pull through, all hook ups. Very spacious private site...only concern was the mud and obvious tire tracks and ruts from previous campers who drove off the concrete. The pad curves to the left such that a long camper (40+ft) will almost certainly drive off the pad with the rear wheels upon exiting the site.

Gunther Hill is a super campground. The Catoma loop has water, sewer & electric making it a premier location for nice views along the Alabama river and convenient access to Montgomery. If you are retired military the BX and Commissary at Maxwell is a short drive away.

The campground is beautiful but the restrooms across from site 33 were in awful shape.The restroom part was clean but the showers looked like they had not been cleaned in months and had mold growing on the walls

The campground at Gunter Hill is excellent with large sites and many on the water. The folks at the booth are amazing and wonderful and we will be back very soon!

Everything worked and this was our 5th Halloween experience. We will be back in 2024. Like the new green color on the dumpster.

I camped in the Catoma Section. My issue is this: when exiting the facility from the Catoma section, one must make a 90 degree turn in a confined area in order to enter one of two exit lanes. The two exit lanes are separated by a small traffic island. This is a very challenging turn if your rig is long. My fifth wheel is 42 ft plus added length of truck. This issue could be eliminated if the traffic island was removed, resulting in one much wider exit lane. This would greatly enhance the safety aspect of existing the campground. The cost of removing the small traffic island would be minimal resulting in a safer and less stressful exit maneuver. Thanks for considering this.

Weve stayed at Gunter Hill several times and have never had a bad experience. Check in is easy, and the sites are always clean.

I am a camphost at a federal site and I must say, I am rather jealous of Gunter Hill. What a beautiful campground! Very spacious with excellent sites and utilities. It is a very well-maintained property. Thank you.

One of the cleanest campgrounds we have been to. This last trip was number two for us. There will be many more. The staff is great!!
