We love camping at Gunter Hill - Catoma on the Alabama River. The staff is always helpful. Wish we could always get a campsite right on the river with a great view and easy access to the river from our campsite but can't always get what you want. Beautiful, clean and quiet campground! Love coming especially during football season when my son is playing at Huntingdon. We will be back very soon.

Very nice campground, big sites. Love that some are full hookups. Bathrooms were clean. Free washer and dryer to use. Definitely will return.

Absolutely love this campground. Sites are designed for privacy at your campsite. You don't open your door only to see another camper's sewage setup. Thank you for allowing campers to enjoy a little slice of nature at their door.

Very nice campground at least on the Cataloma loop. The only negative for us was we wish it had more trails.

We visited there for some relaxation and thats what we got, the sites were very roomy and big, and your neighbor was not close but close enough the campsites had a picnic table and fire pit there as well. I loved the campground! we will definitely be back. There are lots of things to do in the area and places to eat. We visited the legacy museum and Rosa Parks museum and had dinner at Dreamland BBQ. I would recommend this campground.

While the camping experience was fine, the condition of the road north was unacceptable. It is a VERY narrow tar road in excellent shape except: we met another camper and the road was so narrow the camper tire went off the tar. However, there was no shoulder of any kind so the tire dropped 4-8". After getting by each other we bent our axle pulling the camper back up and onto the road. We're currently looking at a $600-1,000 axle replacement.

We had a lovely time at Gunter! This was our 4th time camping with our couples retreat and our Goldens first time camping. The park is beautiful and very well maintained. Highly recommended!

This is our second time at Gunter Hill Park. We stayed in Catoma Loop with full hook ups, site 71. The site was plenty long enough for our truck and 43' 5th wheel. The connections were easily accessible. We will stay here again when in the area.

One of our favorite campgrounds. Its always clean and well maintained. The staff are personable, but not intruding. My one request for improvement would be, clear the underbrush so the water would be more visible during the summer.

Very nice place to take the family perfect get away from the hustle of everyday life and lay back to listen the sound of Mother Nature its perfect in my book ,Was very sad I extended my stay for an additional day and I had to move from my spot and take another spot the front office could not just change the reservation for the number selected for me to remain in my spot although the price was the same and the location was about the same but we moved and spend the night in our new location and it was great. I just believe a better experience front office guy would know what to do

Stayed here many times. All great spots. Clean warm bathroom, several playgrounds. Lots of Halloween spirit in October

Love this campground. Always clean. All the spaces are large and far from neighbors we have stayed many times and always try to stay in spaces 1-75; 76 and up are rustic and beautiful. Bring your bikes; the park has good roads and trails

The campground is a very nice one. We really enjoy the full hook up service. The camp host we’re not doing a very good job of keeping the parking areas cleared off. Sunday the restrooms were a mess and when we left on Monday they were still a mess.

Not so good experience with Megan at recreation.gov chat: After one of my friends cancelled their reservation when it showed as not reserved online I couldn't reserve it. In an online chat with Megan she told me that it was "unavailable but not reserved" and that "the facility has not made it available in the inventory". I called the campground and Debbie advised me that they do not do that: "if the the site is not available it is reserved". DISINFORMATION FROM MEGAN!!

My camping experience was **GREAT**. I enjoyed camping and seeing 40+ friends as we met each other in our rally.

Comment: the shower curtains need a trip thru the washing machine to get rid of the slight mold buildup.

What wonderful park! We stayed 4 nights in the Catoma loop in a 28' travel trailer with full hook up. We had several OTA TV channels and great cell service (AT&T and Visible [Verizon Wireless]. We spent most of our time in Montgomery and at Maxwell AFB.

Lovely sites with good separation in between, some with views. Stayed here for a few nights while following the Civil Rights Trail. Facilities were clean and, although there were quite a few campers, it did not feel crowded.
