We had a Beautiful site with a water view. The campsites were spacious and easy to back into. The staff was very friendly and the price was more than reasonable.

Jist stayed one night, but great campground. Huge level sites, friendly gate staff, clean bath house, and the grounds were well kept. Well definitely plan a longer stay next year.

Campground site was nice and peaceful. The only negative would be is that the bathrooms werent cleaned every day and no toilet paper at times.

We received a call a day prior to our visit, saying that they had no power at most of the sites. Fortunately they were able to find us a comparable site with all hookups working. The sites are well spaced, and the park is beautiful.

Beautiful area and nice space between sites. Showers drain very slowly so you are standing in 2 of water.

Always a great stay at this camp. We make it a tradition to stop here and much to see around Montgomery as well!

We loved being right on the river, although it would have been nice if the undergrowth was cut down/managed for a better view of the water. We enjoyed visiting Montgomery, Selma & Tuskegee... so much history!

Gunter Hill COE is a diamond in the rough. It is very clean, and the sites have just enough room between them to allow for some privacy. They have two areas there, one area does not have sewer connections at any sites, just water and electric. The other area has full hookups on each site, but costs a little more. The bath houses are clean and are centrally located throughout the park. If you have a National Senior Park Pass, you get a 50% discount on your entire stay. That's a great deal! The only reason I gave a 4 star rating instead of 5 is because they have let the trees grow to a height that obscures the view of the lake. If they would just clean out some of the small trees to open up the lake views, it would be fantastic.

I loved our stay at this park. My only complaint was our stay was so short. We will return!

What a beautiful well keep campground! One of our favorite camping places. Being said that, I wish they prune down some of the bushes around the river bank so one can see water more. Also the down side is poison ivy everywhere.

We love Gunter Hill (except for race day noise, which they can't do anything about). It is our go-to campground on travel days both from and to our home base in Pensacola, FL. Full hookups, beautiful water view, who needs more than that.

I was pleasantly surprised by Gunter Hill! The site was beautiful. Surrounded by trees and nature. Easy back in sites, full hookups and friendly staff. I camped here during the tornadoes of 12/22 and to be honest, I was never that concerned. The bathhouse is well maintained, the other campers were super friendly, and everything you need is within 10 miles. The dumpster was crazy far away, but made for a good walk for me and my pup. I would definitely stay here again.

Well maintained campground. Sites are level, wooded and nicely spaced apart from one another. Our site (#12) was by the river; it smelled a bit marshy in that area. I would recommend a site away from the river.

We have stayed at a number of COE Campgrounds, in several different States. We would give this campground a 5 star rating. Gorgeous concrete sites, wide spaced, views of the river, beautiful timber. We were surprised that there were full hookups. Somewhat isolated but not a problem for us.

Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms. Nice sites. Toured downtown Montgomery . Also checked out Prattville, which is a cute town. Be sure to check out the bamboo forest, about 1/4 mile hike around a pond. Saw historic Selma.

This was our first time at Gunter Hill Campground, Al. 27 Dec - 1 Jan 2022. We have already made reservations to go back in March. Very clean and very spacious sites. All sites are full hook up and paved in the Catoma Loop.

We stayed there the week of thanksgiving. We met great friendly people that invited us for thanksgiving dinner at the pavilion. Which was awesome. The sites are large and very nice. The laundry room had two washers and two dryers and looked fairly new. They were 1.50 a wash and 1.00 for dryer. Showers were heated and cleaned well, i smelled the bleach used. There was one bike trail in the woods that was very nice , but that was it. I wish there were more trails. We had a sunny site that was invaded with the asian beetles extremely bad. We were constantly sucking them up in a vacuum. I would get a shaded site next time.
